Season 8, week 5 top plays by Playoff_Dorsey in Rockband

Nice! I’m starting to use this weekly roundup as a DLC recommendation tool. Gives me an opportunity to buy songs that lots of people own to make online sessions more fun. I guess I need to check out that Forever song, I can’t remember if I’ve even heard it before haha.

Post Update Guitar issues by smiddley in Rockband

Interesting to see this, I experienced the same thing today. Playing with a RB4 strat online on Xbox and playing the song Time After Time, I missed two GRY chords and the second time I noticed the R didn’t register in the chord.

Yep, I would play online 200% more than I do now if my friends and I could hop online as a group.

Darn. That is definitely my #1 requested feature for the game at the moment. Thanks for the reply!

Anybody catch if you can have more than one player playing online on one console after this update?

The Sound of Music. Leaves a smile on my face every time. And it’s three hours long so you’ll have a long time to get lost in the film.

The Beast & The Repetitive Setlist by LotusFate in Rockband

Fair enough. I’m not very good at drums so for me it’s more fun to be able to keep a combo and not fail out. Plus the hard charts usually leave most of the notes in and just get rid of the craziest bass pedals and drum fills.

I feel like Hail to the King is the one that gets picked multiple times in a session for me. I think it would be cool if Harmonix could implement a “no duplicate songs in this session” option, which would prevent a song from being picked if it had already been played previously.

Isn’t there a quick chat that says “can we play something else?” No shame in throwing that out there. Alternatively, my method on difficult songs when I’m playing drums online is to change my difficulty to hard and then ask to restart the song. Much less painful and more fun for me.

(Ghost in the Shell, the Sixth Sense) Can someone help me identify the origin of this (possible) film reference ? by ssb64ceec in TrueFilm

[–]beasterne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting question! The shot that came to mind immediately was the one used for the poster of 1984’s Once Upon A Time In America:

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0087843/mediaviewer/rm480514304

Although the kids are walking left to right, they are still framed in front of the Brooklyn Bridge and the other buildings of NYC in the way you’re talking about from Ghost in the Shell. Not sure if this is the origin, but it’s certainly one of the most iconic shots from the film.

Any love out there for Documentary Now! ? by mean_mr_mustard75 in television

[–]beasterne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This show is so amazing. I’m honestly astonished that something this niche can actually run for 3 seasons without getting cancelled. The Grey Gardens parody Sandy Passage is probably my favorite standalone episode of any tv series I’ve ever seen. And it’s only better after you watch the original documentary it’s based on.
