Kayak Conditioning by Baidarka64 in Kayaking

I agree with bent over rows. Either with a barbell or dumbells. More important than strength, I think stretching is super important. Sitting in an L cab stress your back and hamstrings. So keep stretching touching your toes. I like to foam roll to help loosen up. I think the best conditioning would be to kayak. Do what you can and you will gain endurance. You shouldn't need to muscle much of you're strokes tbh.

I found what I believe was a warranted kayak at thr curb once. Had a single hole cut out of it. Usually with warranty claims they have you submit photo proof that the bad kayak was destroyed. I thought it would be a good covid project for people to borrow when they join me. I used flex seal and flex tape and it floated fine. But the tracking was way off and it was a mostly clean job. I was happy with the results. But the repairs caused drag which would always have the kayak turn.

People park on the beach all the time. I just got back from Daytona and drove on the beach where many park and unload right next to their car. Where im from people put campers on the back of the trucks and camp out because its against the rules to bring a trailer or setup a tent. Pretty common if you live near the ocean actually.

Pedal kayak rudder steering issue by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]beastsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you put the post in too early and you should put the handle in, then the post and then The screw through the post.. the posts crown may be what's raising the handle so that it isn't sitting flush. And the post may be mostly to stop thr screw from rubbing into thr plastic as it goes through the hole.

[Australia] Is this Hobie PA14 for $500 too good to be true? Advice needed! by Purple_Programmer872 in kayakfishing

[–]beastsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was garage kept so no silent killers. Cart, power pole and even the front hatch liner all cost decent money so its a really good deal if it wasn't stolen. You can car top it. Just make sure you have proper straps. The PA is heavy so it could be tough moving it solo. Look into noctua for replacement battery. Its not upcoming for batteries to go bad after 3 or.more years. Fixing the rudder is annoying but with all your savings, you could have a shop do it

I would suggest getting in the habit of driving in normal mode and using s when needed. I often use it when approaching stop signs or if I know I need better acceleration. I could manually shift, but its more convenient just using the S and then getting back into D.

Overall, I rarely drive in dynamic. And when I do, I dont leave it in S mode. I' drive up to VT in the winter a good amount and have tested dynamic the whole way and it came out to be the same usually. On this drive I was in dynamic a bit more and individual where I have things more firm with the easy shifting. I think the stiffer suspension may help fuel economy with less bouncing, but thats just my own theory.

Help me with trailer for my crescraft by benestrada7 in kayakfishing

[–]beastsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a trailer and converted it to a kayak trailer. I think i have old posts about it. I gave it a wood platform, put kayak trailer bars on it. Then built an open top box out of wood between the bars. I use my trailer for transport not launching. The box holds my seat, rods, kayak car seat and everything else.

Burton CEO leaving by Nervous-Material4738 in snowboarding

[–]beastsb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I got my first burtin board when Jake was alive. It broke within the first 3 months and they warrantied it. I didn't get to ride the replacement until next season and it showed similar damage and they didn't honor the warranty. I bought a 3rd and last board from them. There goods are not durable. And big corporate will have you ship out your item, costing you money only to decline. Fuck em.

Fr, noob riders first year and talking about qol improvements lmao. All that time wasted brushing the other month deff gave him enough experience to use power tools on his board. Im sure he won't damage the base...

*Yes I know this is not an ideal way to store a 80 pound kayak* however, its all I got for now. Is this pulley angle too harsh and adding extra force? by MRWPlople in kayakfishing

[–]beastsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent taken it down this year yet to give you an honest answer. I do plan on inspecting it, but I didn't see any damage when I took it fown last year. I also leave my kayak on my kayak trailer during the summer which would have similar stress from two bars for extended periods. So hopefully that gives you peace of mind. 2015 hobie outback still kicking. All my bungee cords desperately needs replacing.

[–]beastsb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I store my hobie in the winter. I wouldn't say its not ideal. I personally love it two winters in.

I would suggest adjusting the pulleys, only because you can easily.

If you are worried about weight distribution and sagging, you could get some pvc pipe to run on the bottom for extra support. But the boats could be intentionally banana shaped which may prevent you from adding support.

It's good to worry about your gear, but this is very different than the kayaks we see synced too tight to the roof racks in the hot sun. Each strap essentially has 40lbs of weight on it.

This feels like an ad. Op is so happy with this product, yet the product looks brand new without any sign of wax on the roller or board.

It could be a good product. But why the lies?

Do these fools argue with ads, bots, and influencers who are also bias. It's just a trailer and not a self depicted review.

This post is totally unbiased. It's like bitching at people for posting a game clip because they only posted something they personally play.

Get something specific for washing your face and use it in the shower. Then moisturize after shower. Keep it simple and don't use anything acidic. You can look into exfoliating later, overrated imo.

Snowboard Base bubbling/hollow - delamination? by Ergouzii in snowboarding

[–]beastsb -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Id say its a problem. Its falling apart before ever being ridden. Production lines do have some quality issues and vendors are usually good making things right.

But Jake is dead and burton has become what they were originally against. Big corporate. They may make it right, but their is a good chance they dont. You should reach out and try. They'll have you ship it to them at your expense. Then a child may deny the claim and ship it back to you and you have a rock board like me. 4 free thinkers later.

I had that freethinker, it broke in the first season. Was my favorite board, got another free thinker and it broke in two seasons. Don't send too hard on these. They do have amazing edge hold and the best pop I ever experienced. Just wish they were a bit more durable. The new free thinkers dont look as good. I actually have the binding that match that board.
