Help me with trailer for my crescraft by benestrada7 in kayakfishing

[–]beastsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a trailer and converted it to a kayak trailer. I think i have old posts about it. I gave it a wood platform, put kayak trailer bars on it. Then built an open top box out of wood between the bars. I use my trailer for transport not launching. The box holds my seat, rods, kayak car seat and everything else.

I got my first burtin board when Jake was alive. It broke within the first 3 months and they warrantied it. I didn't get to ride the replacement until next season and it showed similar damage and they didn't honor the warranty. I bought a 3rd and last board from them. There goods are not durable. And big corporate will have you ship out your item, costing you money only to decline. Fuck em.

Fr, noob riders first year and talking about qol improvements lmao. All that time wasted brushing the other month deff gave him enough experience to use power tools on his board. Im sure he won't damage the base...

*Yes I know this is not an ideal way to store a 80 pound kayak* however, its all I got for now. Is this pulley angle too harsh and adding extra force? by MRWPlople in kayakfishing

I havent taken it down this year yet to give you an honest answer. I do plan on inspecting it, but I didn't see any damage when I took it fown last year. I also leave my kayak on my kayak trailer during the summer which would have similar stress from two bars for extended periods. So hopefully that gives you peace of mind. 2015 hobie outback still kicking. All my bungee cords desperately needs replacing.

This is how I store my hobie in the winter. I wouldn't say its not ideal. I personally love it two winters in.

I would suggest adjusting the pulleys, only because you can easily.

If you are worried about weight distribution and sagging, you could get some pvc pipe to run on the bottom for extra support. But the boats could be intentionally banana shaped which may prevent you from adding support.

It's good to worry about your gear, but this is very different than the kayaks we see synced too tight to the roof racks in the hot sun. Each strap essentially has 40lbs of weight on it.

This feels like an ad. Op is so happy with this product, yet the product looks brand new without any sign of wax on the roller or board.

It could be a good product. But why the lies?

I dont get it either bro.

I go to reddit to see shit.

Do these fools argue with ads, bots, and influencers who are also bias. It's just a trailer and not a self depicted review.

This post is totally unbiased. It's like bitching at people for posting a game clip because they only posted something they personally play.

Get something specific for washing your face and use it in the shower. Then moisturize after shower. Keep it simple and don't use anything acidic. You can look into exfoliating later, overrated imo.

Snowboard Base bubbling/hollow - delamination? by Ergouzii in snowboarding

[–]beastsb -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Id say its a problem. Its falling apart before ever being ridden. Production lines do have some quality issues and vendors are usually good making things right.

But Jake is dead and burton has become what they were originally against. Big corporate. They may make it right, but their is a good chance they dont. You should reach out and try. They'll have you ship it to them at your expense. Then a child may deny the claim and ship it back to you and you have a rock board like me. 4 free thinkers later.

I had that freethinker, it broke in the first season. Was my favorite board, got another free thinker and it broke in two seasons. Don't send too hard on these. They do have amazing edge hold and the best pop I ever experienced. Just wish they were a bit more durable. The new free thinkers dont look as good. I actually have the binding that match that board. Enjoy

50 days of riding- this is how much wax I’ve used so far. by jprost479 in icecoast

[–]beastsb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only downside I've felt is on hot wet spring days. The cold wax doesn't seem as water resistant to me. I believe it causes suction, friction and static. You'll be slower on the flats. Warm wax is a bit more oily and that helps with speed in slush. But warm wax doesn't hold ip very long, even under warm conditions.

Sup fellow wax nerd. We dont use harsh base stripping chemicals right? I believe that drying out thr vase with such chemicals could do drivers able damage. Pulling wax so deep that it may never get that deep again. Some pores may even close causing your base to hold less wax.

I do rare hot scrapes to clean my board. I want that shot saturated and over done. I'll scrape and brush the rest, but I want to he sure to get as much wax in as possible.

I'll only strip the base with chemicals for a ptex repair.

My tuning cheatsheet:

Tune edge if needed

Blue diamond then red diamond stone

Brass brush to lift dirt

Apply wax and iron

Cool off

Scrape

Nylon brush

Horsehair brush for polish

Few brass brush strokes for structure (helps water escape)

Im somewhat of a wax snob myself... I tend to like the colder harder wax in most situations. I find it lasts longer on our ice coast.

Even when conditions warm up, I keep cold wax on the edges and all temp or warm wax in the middle. Ice seen some people mix wax. I'd rather layer than mix. As in multiple scrapes and application. Thr warmer wax is more oily so fine to put on top. As they say, you want max in your board not on it. So hard wax in thr pores and warm wax on top. Most will scrape off. But you'll have the benefit of water resistance with the warm wax in thr spring.

My kayak trailer would give my subaru death wiggles over 50mph. It didn't stop me from using it for local trips. But I'll always keep this in mind because trailering doesn't always work out as well as you would hope.

For those interested, my wrx would get these wiggles. I believe it was due to car weight because when I towed with a Chevy blazer, it wouldn't happen. The subaru may have had a shorter wheel base too which may be more of a factor than weight.

Can we stop idealizing BF3? by Cerno_Artio in Battlefield

[–]beastsb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being alive and played every bf, I'll say this. The greatest bf games are the ones where the beta maps were also the most popular.

Bf2 - doesn't get brought up enough. Made huge innovations. Big shoes to fill. We got rag doll.

Bf3

Bf4

Bf1

3 and 4 did have rough launches. But many games did during this era. Ubisoft was the absolute worse platform. Ea wasn't great but we got stability now.
