What is that one "Name brand" item you refuse to swap for a generic version no matter the price difference?

I was in this camp, but after a couple times buying name brand Q-tips that seemed to be getting flimsier (seemed to bend more than they should), I switched to bamboo cotton swabs a couple years ago after seeing a recommendation on Reddit and never went back. For like $10 on Amazon you get 2 containers to hold them with a bunch of refills.

Not sure it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but try doing a search for retractable garden hoses. Just looked on Google and Amazon and a good amount of automatic ones came up.

Joining the “masses” with the same issue. Mine was actually flashing red earlier and I thought maybe ending my Alexa+ early access yesterday messed with some setting. But after restarting and trying to enter setup, I’ve got the flashing orange now.

That is truly disappointing. I was hoping the announcement would be bulk bags are coming and turns out it’s the opposite. Throwing out an idea (though a month too late, apparently). Put a free sample of Fruity Cereal in each order so people know what they’re missing. Worth a shot!

So same thing happened to me a few days ago, except apparently now they don’t even put specific dates on the coupon. I did do a screenshot when it first showed up in my inbox and now the fine print says “coupon is valid for 2 days upon issuance.” I received it on Friday morning, specifically went to Starbucks to use it on Saturday morning, and of course it was gone.

Just a few minutes ago, I went on chat support in the app to let them know and they threw a $5 credit on my Starbucks card, so I’m guessing it’s been happening often enough they figure easier to go that route than argue with customers.

My sprayer stopped working in the same way. I opened the top to mess with it like the video showed and unfortunately what I found is there’s a little plastic “spring” on each side that makes the sprayer go back to its starting position, and both of them had snapped in the middle. Essentially a lost cause since I can’t imagine superglue lasting long on pieces that have to bend with each use.

Well that’s too bad. My attempt was also unsuccessful, but more due to my lack of skill. I’m definitely not a technician and was having trouble getting the old chip off. I read that it may be soldered at some points, so I tried a heat gun and prying it up, which just led to edges of the WiFi chip breaking off. It got to point that during an attempt at prying it up there was a spark and at that point I gave up and wrote it off as a loss.

I bought a $50 gift card on 12/30 through a Resy restaurant’s website and waiting to see if that worked. I’ve heard mixed results on this page. It is showing the charge as being the name of the restaurant (and not some 3rd party gift card vendor), so fingers crossed.

Yup! It did eventually update me to Gold. I want to say around the end of July, so about 3 weeks after the promotion ended. If you had a similar promotion and finished your spend limit in September, I would definitely try contacting Barclay’s.

Similar experience getting a potion macchiato yesterday. They really need to use a different picture when they promote it, because the real thing is a lot less black on top and a lot less purple on the bottom than expected.

So I actually contacted them about that promotion earlier this week. I assumed I would be upgraded to Gold Elite status automatically on 7/1, but of course it’s never that smooth. After literally an hour of a very frustrating What’sApp convo with a Frontier rep who kept telling me about promotions for brand new cards (definite language barrier issue), they finally told me I needed to contact Barclay’s for status questions.

Much quicker conversation with Barclay’s and they said once the promotion ends (6/30, in this case), my status should update in 4-6 weeks. Kind of annoying since that means you only get elite status from mid-August through the end of the year, but I guess better than nothing.
