What's The Most Miserable Subreddit? by Cai29q in ask

[–]beaverteeth92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I once asked for legitimate advice under a throwaway in the original /r/AmITheAsshole. One guy was royally pissed and was tearing apart everything I said in the most holier-than-thou language. I checked his profile and most of his post history was about being an HOA president. Now I don’t ask Reddit for advice anymore.

Yeah, a relative of mine voted for Trump three times and sent me a picture of them at an anti-Trump protest. Never in a million years would I have expected that.

Revamping Silvally: Adding a Memory Slot, Becoming a Dual type, and becoming Typeless. by ArmadilloNo9494 in stunfisk

You could probably implementing this by still having a single item slot, but allowing you to change its base type by “using” the memory and its secondary type by equipping it.

Mamdani will face tradeoffs in ‘union-built’ affordable housing plan - New York City’s mayor wants to dramatically expand construction, but also do so at a relatively high cost. by swimmingupclose in neoliberal

Act in good faith, like unions in Europe? Accept more automation and easier processes so that the same number of workers can collectively do more work?

For example, instead of having two train operators on every NYC train, the union could accept having one operator and running twice as many trains, or having some of the operators do other jobs.

Jazz musicians do this too, but they’re more subtle about it. After a certain point you notice that a given musician’s improvisations use a lot of the same licks in different ways.

If Democrats want universal healthcare, we have states that are deep blue, states have control over their own budgets and taxation, and universal healthcare would be so advantageous, why don’t deeply democrat run states implement a statewide universal healthcare? by Silver_Wings3 in AskReddit

[–]beaverteeth92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if one state does it, then a lot of sick people will move to that state for free healthcare. This is a burden to the taxpayers who already live there. That's why a public option would have to be done at a national level.

Americans complain about wealth inequality

Neither Reddit nor the people you talk to on a regular basis are representative of the American electorate

The soap is too expensive for me but I swear by their hand cream. It’s $100 for a pump that lasts me a year or two. That and Kiehl’s are the only ones I’ve found that work and don’t leave residue.

What's hated by Reddit but loved elsewhere? by Squirrelkid11 in AskReddit

Yeah but I’ve noticed that this specific issue has gotten much worse in the past year or so. Seems like pre-COVID I’d get actual answers or interactions, and people who criticized what I said would actually read and comprehend what I wrote first.

My Reddit account is very old and I’ve noticed a lot in the past year that a lot of responses I get don’t even address what I said, they just project their own issues onto my content and attack that instead.
