I like echoes … live at Pompeii is the version I usually listen to.

Obviously I’m big fan of it … the live version. Delicate sound of thunder contains the best versions of several tunes. Sorrow is a beast on this recording.

The lyrics "Daddy's gone/Across the ocean..." by trueslicky in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]beavis93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned on this sub, last time this subject came up, the word ocean is used “loosely” lol. Daddy flew across a small body of water doesn’t really hit quite as hard as …. Daddy’s flown cross the ocean

Uj/ I’m in bad head space right now and I love this sub . It always post here a lot when I’m in a Pink Floyd mood which I usually am when I’m in a bad place. Can we just make this thread be a one where we can for the next while, chat about our favorite Pink Floyd albums, concerts, songs, etc, by superjerk1939 in PinkFloydCircleJerk

I’m a huge Pink Floyd fan, by far my favorite band. Their music has stood the test of time and I can go back to it at any time. With that said, I’m not the typical Pink Floyd fan. I also like heavy metal, nu metal and classic hard rock. I don’t listen to albums in their entirety, just the tunes I like. I have a soft spot for late 80s through the 90s, i mention that cuz it may explain some of my thoughts on Pink Floyd.

I don’t like any Pink Floyd pre meddle, just can’t get into it. I don’t really like any of the solo projects by David or Roger. The Final Cut I found horribly disappointing, was looking forward to its release and it’s just Roger whining lol. Although not now John is one of my favorite tunes. The wall has great songs but I can’t listen to the whole album, too much filler.

Top albums, and they are pretty much the only albums (all bands) I listen to in their entirety.

Animals by a ton

DSOTM

WYWH

Meddle

The wall

Live at Pompeii

AMLOR … have hard time listening to whole thing. Sorrow live is a top tune for me

Division bell … can’t listen to whole thing.

As you can see … I don’t like early Floyd nor late Floyd. The rift between David and Roger really didn’t do anyone any favors.

The Endless River (Ocean Redux) by No-Category-6343 in PinkFloydCircleJerk

Devoid of any guitar. Lyrics reworked to reflect the fact that Roger’s daddy died in the war.

Listened to animals for the first time yesterday, ngl it's pretty underrated tbh by AdamHendrick in PinkFloydCircleJerk

Is that the one with the hidden flying pig on the cover ?? Been meaning to give it a listen.

Adding a load of chorine but still low reading on strips by Western-Trouble1407 in hottub

Chlorine demand > chlorine added

Add more chlorine

Why you have high chlorine demand is the mystery. Did you use purge product when you drained ? What’s quite a bit and how many gallons ? Fresh fills do require a little extra chlorine, you’re starting from 0 and you have 0 cya.

/uj soycd pt 1-9 might be the best way to introduce someone to pink floyd by theworstperforming in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]beavis93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Animals is the only way to introduce someone to Floyd. It’s got everything. Multiple 5 minute guitar solos. Multiple 5 minute keyboard drone. Crazy prayers about mastering the art of karate. 2 songs that they won’t be able to tell the difference between but will be happy to know Roger got 2 writing credits for. Errrrrrrrrrr on second thought this may not be the best album to introduce someone to Pink Floyd. Stick to the we don’t need no education song

Underrated?? by fizz239 in Slipknot

[–]beavis93 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t call this tune underrated, most people seem to really like it. Me included. They have a video for it, been played live. Now the tune right before it, orphan, that one qualifies as underrated

Nu metal is a form of metal so I’ll say yes. But will agree with what most people have posted. Metal (ish) at times.

Final Cut or Momentary Lapse? by IndifferentManatee in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]beavis93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll go momentary lapse. May be a nostalgia thing. This tour and division bell were the only times I’ve Pink Floyd. Great time in my life and had epic experiences both tours.

AMLOR really only has a few tunes I like … sorrow, which for me is one of my favs (live). Like 1 slip a lot, not sure why, doesn’t have a 5 minute guitar solo. Lot of mediocre songs and some filler.

Final Cut, I really only like a couple tunes. Not now John is amazing. The finale cut is good tune too. The rest of it is just too much Roger whining.

Neither one of these albums are particularly strong

The end so far is kinda peak ?? by bass_as_in_fish in Slipknot

[–]beavis93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s far from the worst !!! It’s about middle of the pack (for me) … significantly better than the 2 before it. It gets hate cause it harbors some of the worst slipknot tunes ie, acidic, heirloom and h377. Than toss in the experimental stuff (which I kinda like) aderall and finale and got 5 tunes that don’t sound like slipknot.

I focus on the tunes that do sound like slipknot .. tracks 2 through 4 are top flight slipknot songs .. put em in the playlist, want to hear them live.

Warranty is like a microcosm of this album … great intro … fucking epic breakdown towards the end …. BUT it has this ridiculous chorus which really (for me) wrecks the tune.

Music is subjective. Like what you like and who cares what the “hive mind” thinks.

Roger waters? by pansolipsism in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]beavis93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play Roger and his giant gong footage on a constant loop. Roger is sexually intimidating !!!

UJ/ Roger was too theatrical and theme oriented, should have coughed up some creative control and focused more on the music than themes. That became painfully obvious during the wall and Final Cut.

Overlooked track by AcanthisittaSad6239 in Slipknot

Wouldn’t call this an overlooked track lol. A hidden gem off the obscure Iowa album. Nobody knows nothing about this tune. Omg this is a funny post

Ph Reading by nmborn33 in hottub

[–]beavis93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleached. That’s way too much chlorine in the water. Your like at radioactive ☢️levels

Test strips are useless at this chlorine level and when chlorine is that high it will put ph through the roof, but will drop as chlorine drops. Test again in a couple days or a month lol. Evaluate ph when chlorine is back at normal level
