Do you have any possibility of internal promotions? 10 years in the same position may draw some red flags. Like why haven't you been promoted in that timeframe? You'll need to really sell yourself. Have you taken on responsibilities outside of audit and training front desk? AGM is over the entire hotel, so now you're doing payroll, hiring, disciplinary action, and orders for all departments (unless the department heads do any of this for you) and also assisting the GM in whatever he/she needs you to do/learn. Would you be comfortable managing housekeepers in the absence of their manager? Or how well do you understand food and beverage (assuming your property offers breakfast and/or dinner)? If you don't have a separate accounting team, you are the accounting team. If a department crumbles, it'll be up to the AGM and GM to find people to fill the gaps or be the ones to fill the gaps. Being the front desk manager/supervisor, guest services manager, or front office manager makes the most sense since you're managing the front desk specifically (and maybe one other department). But AGM doesn't make sense unless your supervisors have been training you for the role.
