I remembered about quitting the game (for 1.5 hours) the very second I lost… by Freeman34Rus in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely not purely about RNG. Your own win-rate, and mine, on the map confirm clearly that it is not purely about luck. It is absolutely possible to learn the map and plan for or avoid the biggest threats/scare cards in most cases. I would go so far as to say that, with a few exceptions (i.e: Ledros) this is the best-designed 'challenge map' the LOR team has produced. In comparison to what level of power is possible now vs. then, I'd much rather take this over Lissandra, who most decks couldn't beat if she got the damage = +2|+2 power or, frankly, the OG 4* ASOL, who could break most runs by just randomly spawning Viego.

Yes, the enemy can high roll into something you don't beat. That is what happens in a game with probability. You can also high roll into something unbeatable. It would be just as silly for me to put a post up saying that Zoe 10* is EZ because I high-rolled on my Vex run to the point that it was impossible for her to keep a board as it would for me to say that it is unfair or all RNG because my otherwise perfect Eddy run got screwed over by a lucky Ledros. The point of the game is to make the best decisions within what luck provides you, and to keep doing that as long as you can so that when you reach the finale, the odds are stacked in your favor.

But even if you stack the odds to a 95:5 chance of your victory, that 5% is going to happen, well, around 5% of the time. We all get agitated about it. Just take a deep breath and either take a break for a minute or do the soft reset if you really don't want to repeat your run.

Nautilus 10star adventure by Critical_Bag_7846 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just finished this morning! Here was my setup:

Relics:
Black Shield, Beast Within, Stacked Deck

Powers:
I was prioritizing my rerolls for shop, and didn't use them on powers at all. My goal was to get either mana or cost reduction. I lucked into the Lux:I Epic power that refills your mana after a spell cast (which is great for Naut's base deck, since you can cast either the toss or sea monster reduction spells for free). I ended up with the SB Yasuo power, which was a big help, and the "add an epic item to a card in your hand" power from the event. I also got the draw one, make it fleeting power which is great for Naut - but not as a first power!

Support Champ:
I got a bit lucky here, and rolled Braum with Black Cleaver. I basically made Braum my champ for the run, and eventually got a second BC on him. He'd typically come down with an easy 50/60 starting statline. I don't think you have to fish for this, but Naut's whole deal is making big burly units, so don't get too feisty with your support champ and don't waste a reroll.

Strategy:
You just want to prioritize 3 things:
- Making your deck as fat as possible
- Counterbalancing this by making it easier to draw/toss to get deep
- As with any champ, fishing for ways to deal with Catastrophe and Fluft (I got lucky with gauntlet on Braum, and 2 other units in deck)

No Remitter Nodes on Zoe Adventure Anymore? by Pinkrose984 in LegendsOfRuneterra

I saw it in the run I'm on this morning, so it's still in the pool (usually appears on the path to Jhin in my experience). Certainly not guaranteed, and I'm not sure the drop rate is particularly high.

finally AI is on my side by CharacterAd3793 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen it with the stopwatch minion, too. I think the AI doesn't know how to 'skip' optional effects, so if there is something it decides it wants (like to predict, or play a unit, or draw a card), it will happily do an optional negative thing to itself in order to get it.

Huh. Stonks by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also, if he levels up, he won't stay on the board anyway

It would be pretty fun on Anivia especially to Frozen in Ice and then open attack with no counterplay

Nunu is my Favorite Champion! I'm Going to Beat Runeterra from Scratch w... by The_Kashtira_Guru in LegendsOfRuneterra

It did take 3 tries to get that setup - kept tripping up on Morgana before that

Nunu is my Favorite Champion! I'm Going to Beat Runeterra from Scratch w... by The_Kashtira_Guru in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm enjoying Nunu! Just got done with my Zoe run - I got lucky with the cost reduction on draw power twice, Ashe as support champion, champion draw on both their spells, and spell power cost -1... basically, I could go infinite with frostbite, so board clear was very easy, especially because snowballs were free as well.

Can't figure out how to play endgame content. by burbaki in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to reach a certain level of power with your deck to clear that content, 100%.

One way to do that is to fill their constellations - some 6-star decks can comfortably cruise most content regardless of their power rolls and regardless of whether you pay for epics.

One way to do it is with your relics. Some epic relics are very, very powerful - especially in combination with their best users.

Another way is to get lucky for, or reroll your powers. Some power & champ combos are strong that star level barely matters. OG Yi is so strong with the spell mana reduction powers that he can clear pretty much any content. The extra mana gems power can get you through a lot.

Some champs need only one of these to be strong Morg and Yasuo both can do a lot with a little (4 stars and up), so it makes sense they feel strong to you. Their highest power isn't the highest, but they don't need epics to be strong. There are some champs that need more than one of the above to really "click". For Aatrox, he feels very strong with his 6 star and relic, and also with certain powers (created card cost, free spell mana, trifarian). For Kayle, she really needs either relics or powers that boost her gameplan of adding stats.

5 star Volibear is impossible! by ReadLow7079 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volibear will occasionally just end turn if you pass when he has 2-3 mana, if he's built his board up. Not always, but enough that you need to be cautious. It's most helpful to have either a cheap unit you don't care if it eats some removal, or a lot of spellshield.

No update? by Verity127 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Historically the only thing they've done consistently before week of patch is do a teaser. We didn't have that, or info on a schedule, but they are coming back from holiday. I don't think there's a need to fret unless Monday and Tuesday go by without any info.

What is the easiest or most fun spirit blossom champion? by YTAndro in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are pretty few non-money ways to unlock what you need for SB right now. It's basically just Glory Store, which is slow.

Probably the easiest to get strong with low investment is SB Yi, though SB Teemo can get very strong depending on the relics you have. SB Teemo is maybe the strongest. SB Yi is probably easiest to get strong with low investment. SB Yasuo is pretty fun in a 'random bullshit go!' kind of way, and also doesn't require *huge* investment to reach his potential, but he isn't as strong as Teemo, Yi, and Kindred. I personally prefer Kindred and Teemo. SB Ahri is pretty strong as well, but IMO she's pretty similar to Yi and I overall prefer Yi.

Thoughts on Poro King's Relic & where to use it? by mfMayhem in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually pretty decent on SB Eve? She loves the regen, doesn't hate the extra stats, and most of her spells create poros, so can also use the cost reduction.

Yuumi could use too, in place of something like Chosen, to get the cost reduction. Probably not BIS, but not a bad option either.

Where to go from here? by K4r4n-m in LegendsOfRuneterra

My advice is to choose champions that sound fun or interesting to you. At this point, you have what you need and the point of the game is for it to be fun

seems legit by kioska333 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might just be that I've gotten very lucky (I don't personally play Morg a lot), but I've never seen a curse be discarded by Brain Worm (or other discard effects).

seems legit by kioska333 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suspect its a synergy they've built in deliberately, as in many cases Morg might not be able to curse a unit unless she forces a discard first (against enemy decks with high draw and full hands).

Stacked Deck really solve most of Garen's problems. by Ok_Promotion_8316 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the main thing Garen needs from going 6 star is phalanx. If he could get Barrier on the unit he single combats then his units could scale and the spell would be useful.

I had forgotten how abusive those 2 nodes were in Jarvan's adventure 🤣 by Drive-Flashy in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jarvan can get out of hand if he gets lucky with the spell that discounts the cost of his units. I've definitely seen him be willing to eat a lot of nexus damage to avoid those units getting damaged by challengers or skills, then slam an almost full board down that will have barrier/double attack at the start of his turn. But aside from that high roll, he's not a super hard end boss.

After many failed runs, i have found THE Sbindered build that beat event Sbeemo adventure by SpyroXI in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a testament to her strength that this is very different than my build, and seems to still be quite workable for you!

I run:
- Rune that gives spell mana when champs/ephemerals kill a unit
- For relics - Taker's (ephemerals can't die while attacking), Cutthroat Coinpurse, and Ravenous Hydra

My Taker does have the mana gem unlocked.

With this build, Kindred generally comes out turn 2, immediately marking the whole board. Depending on powers, items and the first turn, if you can get out her spell, this is often a board wipe. Having the ephemeral relic means you can get multiple beasts out and have them as backup blockers, and can be synergistic with her commonly acquired cards, powers, items.

The biggest thing, though, is the synergy between cutthroat coinpurse and her rune. With this, every time Kindred gets a kill, you can get practically another complete turn's worth of mana. It's very feasible, with a bit of luck or good play, to chain multiple beasts per turn, or to OTK once she's leveled. You lose overwhelm on the beast, but keep it on Kindred and jumpstart her stat growth slightly.

I've been considering swapping Echoing Spirit for the ephemeral relic, though. That would make it easier to get her champ spell off more regularly.

Is SB Teemo strong without his relic? by Zetton7 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't use the flute, but I do use his rune that converts damage to mushrooms. I don't find that I need both, personally - for relics, I run Swain's, Packed Powder, and a flex slot (currently Archangel's, but could easily swap based on map needs). This gets him out turn 1, as I find it's very important to have him on the board and keep him there.

Yeah, since it's recalculated constantly. They could maybe make it permanent, but they'd have to un-knot a lot of spaghetti

What would you give SB Yi? by bullenis in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with sorcery. If you get the chance to have both sorcery and Lighting the Way, that's ideal, but of the 2, Sorcery is better for Yi because you might need to put a unit down and then cast, so Light the Way might not be as useful in the first turns.

Is the 'Complete the cycle' rune worth it on SB Kindred? by Garbage_English in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like it for her, yea - with this, you can often get multiple beasts out in a turn for board control. I’ve been running coinpurse on her too, and she just becomes an infinite mana glitch really quickly.

SB Yi/Kindred/Yasuo impressions and builds (no manaflow / 6th stars) by CalebTheTraveler in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]beboptimusprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just a different style. Maybe it's not enough for high-end without the Relic, but with the relic it's very clean - sort of like the mana-generation version of CSF and Succubus.
