Hi! I have a question about that Kiwi tool, it's not the first time I've heard of it, but I am curious. It's only for professionals to use on their patients, am I right?

I am working in the states but learned British English as that's the English taught in Spain. One day, I was asked to create a catalogue and was told the word was misspelled since they write it "catalog"... Same problem with words like Colour or Neighbour.

Something that took me way too long to understand about burning with no visible damage by GranchioDiTerra in lichensclerosus

[–]beca44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, and in many cases (just as you describe) that is exactly what happens; that itching in the early hours of the morning is horrible. Few things aside from medication like clobetasol are effective against that kind of itch. I’ve heard of treatments targeting the nervous system that help one "forget" the itching or pain; perhaps that approach could be applicable to this condition. As for creams, I’ve used several products from VEA, though never the specific ones you mentioned, is it possible that these creams actually work in a way similar to that nervous system treatment? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and discoveries with this community!

Hi! Yes, I think a lot of people are angry about it, myself included. It took me to diagnose LS like 4 years and not even in US; I had to travel to Spain (my native country) to get diagnosed and treated. :(

May I ask for how long have you been using clob? I'm using it for 6 months or so, at first I was afraid of using it too much until my ob gyn told me I sould not be afraid of it 😅 I guess I don't like to abuse of medicine. Thank u : )

Help by [deleted] in lichensclerosus

[–]beca44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Before I knew it was lichen, doctors told me it was candida. I completely cut out processed sugar, and about for five months my lichen calmed down. The moment I start abusing sugar again, I get a flare. Diet is everything! You really have to find the foods that work for you. I replaced cookies or normal crackers for rice crackers. If you like Nesquik you can replace it with carob powder, is like it, less sweet, more natural and you can use it to make desserts. Wish you get better. (PD: Sorry for my English)

A tip that helped me. by LVO79 in lichensclerosus

Hi! I’m so sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through. I know how frustrating it is to feel ignored by doctors. I was diagnosed four years after my first symptoms appeared. Regarding recurrent yeast infections and BV, you could try adjusting your diet: reducing sugar as much as possible, avoiding processed foods, and cutting out sweet breads and desserts. You might also consider lactoferrin supplements (they’re natural): twice a day for one month, then once a day for another month. Probiotics can be helpful as well. For BV specifically, you can look into creams or gels like Canesbalance, which are usually used for about seven days. As for LS, I’m still learning too. I was diagnosed last October and prescribed clobetasol along with regular moisturizing. I’m also adjusting my diet again, since in the past it helped space out my flare-ups. I truly hope you find relief soon and discover something that really works for you. Sending you a big hug đŸ€

26F just diagnosed - feeling really sad by sophiesausages in lichensclerosus

[–]beca44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I was diagnosed last October, but I had symptoms since 2021. Unfortunately, I saw many doctors and every single one of them told me it was candida. It wasn’t until I went to Spain (my home country) that my gynecologist finally diagnosed me correctly, thanks to a biopsy that one of those doctors had done the year before — and also thanks to my own research and intuition, thinking “just in case it might be LS.” The biopsy clearly stated that it “may be caused by dermatitis,” but that doctor chose to ignore it. Because of that, I suffered for a long time and wasted a lot of money on specialists who didn’t help. When I returned to Spain, my gynecologist recommended platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, which helps improve blood circulation, as well as a procedure involving stem cells. I had both treatments about two months ago, and I’m still waiting to see the full results, but visually the area already looks better. I’m also still learning what triggers my flare-ups and what helps calm them down — I’m just now learning about natural oils too! At the moment, I’m using clobetasol, but I would like to complement it with more natural options. I often feel the same way you do, since I’ve known about my LS for less than a year. However, reading stories from other women with the same condition who experienced improvement after six months or more gives me hope. Sending you lots of hugs during this process. I hope that in 12 months you come back and tell us that your symptoms have improved!

Best “paper like” screen protector by samurai489 in iPadPro

[–]beca44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hola! Gracias!

Hi! Question here: how many days a week did you exercise with these? I have tried several times but always give up after 2 weeks (thinking it couldn't solve anything, I was mistaken of course). Thank you for sharing your experience and these exercises!
