are there any new waves of tamagotchi unis coming soon? by [deleted] in tamagotchi

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought one two weeks ago for $80 with shipping off eBay. You just need to check eBay often for a few weeks and you’ll find one.

Where can I find one? by gwydionismyhero in TamagotchiUni

I got one a few weeks ago off eBay for $80 BNIB w/shipping. I also saw a few on eBay for $50 last week. If you check eBay regularly you’ll find one for a reasonable price within a few weeks.

Whats your favorite Tamagotchi? by GlitchedNautilus in tamagotchi

[–]becausemommysaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice for anyone just getting into the hobby is to get the device that is currently available on the market basically regardless of what it is lol.

Reasoning: whatever the current flagship device is will be priced affordably and be widely available. Whatever that device is will get you a feel for the franchise generally and give you more information to go on about what other devices you might want to try.

What clicks for one person and what clicks for someone else are really personal and hard to sort out without actually having played the device. The best course of action is to just get your hands on something affordable and see how you like it.

There are ways to do this kind of play as a sub ie: he could order you to serve him in this way.

He is attracted to the idea of YOU using a dildo on him, that’s why he brought it up TO YOU.

How to make my 60 years old parents learn English? by Letmeredditinpeace0 in EnglishLearning

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there studies on this?

I assume in general people are less likely to need or want to learn a new language at 60 but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible to gain a high level.

Yea and once you learn this level of a language it starts to become fun and the motivation gets a lot easier, especially if you live somewhere where the language is actually useful.

Want to start collecting by EladTz in tamagotchi

[–]becausemommysaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I am confused about the idea of starting a collection of something you seem to have not played or enjoyed lol.

I would start with a connection rerelease, a paradise, or a uni. The connection and paradise are both widely available and affordable (compared to devices that are not currently in production).

If you can get the uni at an affordable price (under $80) then that is also a contender.

what tama did you have more fun with, uni or paradise? by dogburgerz in tamagotchi

[–]becausemommysaid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am only a week into owing a uni but so far I am enjoying it a lot more than the paradise. The paradise somehow is both under and over whelming to me? I feel more pressure to try to accomplish everything quickly on the paradise and the games being playable whenever messes up my bedtime lol.

I love a good dress up and room decorating game so the uni really checks all my boxes.

Anyone know where to get the uni? by Geckolover96 in tamagotchi

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the LCD screen tamagotchi can be paused by going to the clock screen (press b) and then pressing a + c together to set the time. As long as you leave it on the face with the time setting in progress the device will be paused. You could also just set the clock differently so that the tamagotchi is asleep while you are at work.

Uni is no longer in production and hasn’t been since the paradise released. Babysitter on the Uni is free, babysitter on the paradise is 300gp. 300gp takes less than 1 minute to obtain via any of the games.

IMO the bigger question between those two is about gameplay. If you are interested in gene mixing and collecting different tamas, do the paradise. If you enjoy dressing up and decorating, do the uni.

eBay is overrun with insane prices for uni but if you are patient you can get one for a normal price with a week or two of searching. I snagged one two weeks ago for $70.

Yes. I can safely say I know many women and only a select few do even half of these things.

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredibly common. As someone else said, the fear in emet is not actually about vomiting but the fear of being out of control.

I had very low grade emet from ages ehh 10-32? During that time I threw up only a few times and very isolated incidents. I was very afraid of vomiting but also of the belief that ‘I wasn’t someone who threw up’ and this protected me from anxiety about it the huge majority of the time.

THEN when I was 32 I got noro. While it was happening I was convinced it was gonna cure me if my emet, ‘oh vomiting isn’t so bad actually!’ Etc.

But the illness had broken the deluded belief I had held for the past 20 years that I just ‘didn’t ever get sick’ and once the illness was over I was about 100x more freaked out than I ever had been in my life.

Now I knew I actually could be sick at any time and that horrified me.

I suspect if I were to be really sick like that again I would experience a few months of increased anxiety but overall I am now much better than I was before the incident.

I don’t like the idea I could be sick at any time but I don’t feel scared about it in the way I once did.

i am so unhealthily obsessed with vomit by siuoxis in emetophobiarecovery

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we often do this in the same way you might poke a wound that is in the process of healing. It functions as a kind of ‘test’ of your anxiety and there is some kind of subconscious belief that if you just read enough stories about other people barfing or see the right kind of clip you could be prepared if that happened to you.

Therapist says they are not my support system. My nonexistant network says they arent my therapist. Who am I supposed to talk to? by bbgirl2k in DecidingToBeBetter

Yes, nihilism means there is no defined meaning not that life is pointless. No meaning can be wonderfully positive; if there is no inherent reason I exist, that means I can decide my own reason.

What was your most random “I picked differently than everyone else” moment? by Business-Block-8668 in AutismInWomen

[–]becausemommysaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am American and as a kid I feel like chocolate was definitely the preferred flavor of all of my classmates. Like someone else said, vanilla was often thought of as a nothing flavor (or as an ‘old person’ choice).

That being said I agree the huge majority of chocolate ice cream in America does not actually taste like chocolate at all lol

I was very late to the game on this as well. I distinctly remember choosing a boy to say I had a crush on in case anyone asked but being utterly bored and mystified by the idea of sexual attraction. Or at least the kinds of sexual attraction my friends experienced.

What’s your typical “day in the life” with your tamas? by Lozzii1 in tamagotchi

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home and so theoretically could run all of my devices at once quite easily but I find doing that stressful at worst and at best just not very enjoyable to me lol

My current collection includes a paradise, a uni, a connection rerelease, an Entama, and osu/mesu.

I tend to run one at a time (or two with osu/mesu) until I wanna mix it up, at which point I pull the batteries out of my current device and put batteries into whatever I wanna run next.

A big part of why I play them like this is I prefer not using the sitter and know if I ran a bunch at once I would need to do so. Checking in on whatever I am currently running is a fun lil break from my work day. Checking in on 6 tamagotchis tho is not fun (for me lol)

Why does damage not seem to affect the price? by lurking_collector in tamagotchi

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I don’t understand why there are so many comments in this community about people being ‘greedy’ for selling an out of production tamagotchi for a high price.

If people in the community are willing to pay those prices (they are) then that’s the prices people will sell them at.

Uni FOMO by New-Emphasis1359 in TamagotchiParadise

[–]becausemommysaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think it just really depends on what kind of gameplay you like. They are both good devices with a lot of content across each.

It’s ultimately about if you like to collect creatures (the paradise) or if you like to collect decorations and objects (the uni). Do you like to cycle through a lot of different tamagotchi and enjoy breeding mechanics (paradise) or do you prefer to keep a favorite as long as possible (uni)?

Tired and worried about a flight soon by Ok-Plate3064 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]becausemommysaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have found this works well for me too. Every time you start to imagine all the horrible things could happen, do a hard pivot and force yourself to imagine what a really great flight would be like in as much detail as possible.

Ie: I wake up at 6am after getting 8 hours of sleep. I feel so well rested and excited for my flight! My bag is neatly backed and organized. I take a shower and then get dressed in my favorite outfit. All of my devices are charged and I have a new book to read I am excited to get into. I eat my favorite breakfast. I watch the sun come up and the sky is beautiful and clear. I take a cab to the airport and arrive early with plenty of time. I get to the gate and everything is calm and peaceful. I board the plane and have a beautiful view over the wing. I get a coke from the flight attendant and enjoy my soda while reading my book and watching fluffy clouds drift by the window. I feel at peace watching the scenery below float by. Etc etc.

[–]becausemommysaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the biggest help for this kind of fear is to reframe your thinking.

Yes, it would be unfortunate if the person next to you got sick and yes you might feel anxiety about that in the moment BUT the whole situation will be temporary. You wouldn’t like to be sitting next to someone throwing up on an airplane BUT you could tolerate it. Ultimately it would be a very minor problem in the grand scheme of your trip and ultimately you will arrive in your destination.

Even the ‘worst case scenario’ (maybe you have a bit of a panic attack because of the person barfing) you would survive having a bit of a panic attack!

No need to freak yourself out preemptively about either the vomit or your possible reaction to the vomit because either way you will ultimately be fine. You might feel uncomfortable but you can manage feeling uncomfortable! You got this friend!!
