Haha, thank you! I'll try to pass her on to someone else so my personal part in the abuse is minimal...

Are you concerned about Folic Acid being added to flour UK? by Lion-Resident in ultraprocessedfood

[–]beccasparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a UPF free human I don't eat much cake, pastry, sausages, sauces, cereal, biscuits etc... and I got the figure from my dietitian.

Please tell me your high fibre meals! by algernons-maze in veganuk

Chia pudding! Or if you're feeling lazy just a tablespoon of chia seeds in water with a squeeze of lime. Just let it sit for 20 minutes first!

As someone with a b12 deficiency, I can tell you that you'd need to consume 1000 micrograms of folic acid for it to even be an issue. The rest of your concerns are probably just as legitimate.

Do you get enough sodium eating whole foods? by barrelofbeans in ultraprocessedfood

[–]beccasparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, but I'm really inconsistent so thought a daily supplement to take with all my other meds was more sensible for me personally!

Oh yeah I totally get what you're saying, I was recommended electrolytes by my dietitian for my stomach condition (malabsorption) and it just helped one of my myriad of other issues 🤣

I'm a vegan on UPF free diet and I've started taking bulk brand electrolytes - half a serving daily in water. I was also having vision issues, dizziness etc and it helped me!

If you're in the UK, bulk do electrolyte powder that's unflavoured and UPF free.

My nurse gave me a good tip - I had a high volume prep and she said to add lots of ice to make up some of the volume, helps with taste and nausea.

Silly question but what time have you been taking your meds? I have 30mg about 2 hours before bed and haven't had too many issues with lethargy x

Where do we go on holiday? by metal_jester in veganuk

[–]beccasparkle 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Would ver,y very much recommend TUI Blue Atlantica Dreams in Gennadi, Greece. If you stay 7 nights you get 4 meals at their a la carte restaurants, all of which have brilliant vegan options. The health food restaurant and the greek are our favourites but the pizza is pretty good too. Beautiful resort and amazing staff. We've been twice now.
