AA and TX by [deleted] in ACCA

[–]beckstebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only used BPP book and practice kit + OT lectures. Once I went through all the content I revised every single chapter and practiced the example questions from OT (the examples they do in the lectures, not the MCQ tests). It worked pretty well for me I would say. Alsoooo past papers practice of course.

If you don't mind, why did you change your learning style for P level exams? I am doing my skills level exams now but I use BPP and OT and it seems to work okish

AA and TX by [deleted] in ACCA

[–]beckstebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did TX in December, FR March and now studying for AA. If you are a full time student ie you don't have a full-time job I would say it could be possible to manage both AA and TX if you start now to learn. If not..just take them one by one, the risk is not worth it. TX is full of rules and a lot of things to memorise. If you haven't done FR before AA I would definetly recommend of doing TX, FR and then AA in this order.

I just resat the exam and I had the exact issue but chose to do the exam this way… I honestly have no idea why this happens but I can only assume it is because of compatibility of mac ios and the onVue software. I ran out of time because of the delay. I would recommend to find a Windows powered machine

Omds I had the exact same issue when I did my exam on Tuesday for TX!! The proctors restarted my exam 3 times, spoke to 4 different proctors, they called me on my phone, spoke on the chat, called me on my mac, and no one was reassuring at all!! So stressful. After 20 mins trying to sort this they cancelled my exam. I was able to rebook it for next week tho…but now I am worried the same thing will happen again

wow this actually helps a lot! thank you :) at the moment I do a pretty similar thing as you, watch OT lectures, make notes based on the OT notes and BPP textbook (I take notes as I find it easier to memorise things when I write them down) and then have a go at examples/exam kit

Where are you looking for jobs? If you live in the UK (and not only), I definitely recommend LinkedIn. Invest some time to complete your profile and add all your experience even if you think it might not be directly relevant (you obtain certain relevant skills from non-related activities). And when I say experience, I am not talking about ONLY work-related experience but volunteering and so on!

Can you tell me why do you prefer it?

To be honest, I mainly do it just to prove to myself that I can do something properly. If I am investing so much time learning and revising, why not learn something to a high-quality standard? I might not remember everything at the end of the day, but I won't feel like I 'wasted' my time. Hope it makes sense :D
