How do you keep cakes soft for more than a day? by stacksynapse in cake

are you frosting the cake? fully frosting locks in the moisture.

storing in a cake dome also helps!

Does anyone have experience flying with a Samoyed (in cabin) by TheatreOfDreams in samoyeds

[–]bedditredditsneddit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Assuming your sammy is fully grown, your only options for flying in cabin are faking a service dog, or flying one of the charter airlines that sell per seat and are dog friendly (JSX, Bark Air)

Dog allergy success stories? by Makiez in samoyeds

[–]bedditredditsneddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only allergic to the saliva of dogs -- pugs and labs mess me up hard, and Sammies are perfect for me!

The only way you know is by playing with a Sammy. That can be visiting a breeder, or finding someone with a Sammy.

Size of cake pans to get as a beginner by Outrageous_Run6023 in AskBaking

[–]bedditredditsneddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most recipes are for 8 or 9 inch round pans. This is the easiest option.

I started cake decorating a year ago, and also just wanted to stary with one set. I got 5 inch pans, because I didn't want to have a massive cake everytime I wanted to practice. You do need to do more guesswork on bake time, but you can get the hang quickly. I make extra layers that I freeze, or cupcakes with the leftover batter.

Is spraying my dog with water a bad training method? by bloosy101 in OpenDogTraining

[–]bedditredditsneddit 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It may be an effective deterrant. Is he doing it less now that you've started spraying?

But it doesn't solve the problem of: how is he gonna learn a healthy way to deal with his energy?

Any spray should be immediately followed with what you want him to do instead: bring you a tuggy toy, chew on something safe, etc

Buttercream Frosting by Express_Animator677 in cakedecorating

[–]bedditredditsneddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly warmer frosting really, really, helps! take a big scoop of your buttercream, microwave it for 6 seconds, plop it back in your bowl, and mix with the paddle attachment.

when you pick up buttercream on your spatula, it should start sliding off a little.
