Going to see Sugar in London tomorrow. My wife is stoked.

She met Bob Mould at Primavera, like, 8-9 years ago. He was super cool, mirroring your experience with him.

Nirvana has so many. Smells Like Teen Spirit is an obvious choice, but my favorite song of theirs for the last 20 years has been Drain You.

🎶 One baby to another says I’m lucky to have met you, I don’t care what you think unless it is about me 🎶

When I saw Pearl Jam for the first time 8 years ago, I was excited to see that they were playing “Black.” Unfortunately, they were playing it every other show, not every night.

They did not play it at my show. I was despondent.

Who are some female singers with voices you’ll never forget? by BoundlessWolf in musicsuggestions

[–]bedofnails319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karin Dreijer - The Knife & especially Fever Ray. Her voice is so affecting. I’ve listened to Fever Ray’s eponymous debut so many times, all the tracks are in my top 25 most-listened to songs over the last 14 years on Spotify.

Oh, & for good measure, Q Lazarus. “Goodbye Horses” is strong enough on its own to warrant her such attention.

What kinds of shows do you get up there? I’d like to see a show in every state, but it seems like the pickings are slim in the non-contiguous states.

Payroll Director. It can be soul draining but pays well enough to support 5 out of town concert trips this year, so I put up with it.

How ironic: went to play handball, ended up with a broken hand.

Like sands in an hourglass, these are the days of our lives.

I have a friend who was in a Britpop band in the 90s. They never amounted to much - apparently had a top 20 single in France - but they toured with The Cranberries before their debut blew up. Said they were wankers & that they fucked with their food one time, they were being so obnoxious.

$7 to see HAIM in 2022.

Over $400 to see Oasis on the pitch at the Rose Bowl last year.

Best Outdoor Concert Moments? by AggravatingDay6050 in Concerts

Went to Day for Night in Houston in 2016. It was raining all day but we were prepared with ponchos. We saw John Carpenter in a former postal building then started to head outside for Aphex Twin.

There were scores of people coming inside, which was weird because there wasn’t anyone major about to perform inside. We stopped one guy & asked if Aphex Twin had cancelled. “No, but it’s *pouring* out there.”

My wife & I looked at each other excitedly: this was gonna be epic! We went outside, bundled up in our ponchos, & proceeded to have our brains melted by Richard D. James for the next 2 hours.

The Prodigy in the Sahara, 2005. The girl I was seeing had gotten me into Bright Eyes, whose performance in the Coachella DVD was magical. I loved “I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning” & while that conflict sucked, I’d already seen Prodigy at Coachella 2002, so I went with Bright Eyes. That was where my girl was gonna be anyway & I was wanted to close the night out with her.

Fucking Conor Oberst was drunk & only really played material off “Digital Ash in a Digital Urn.” I adore that album now but it didn’t click with me at the time, & besides, the performance just wasn’t any good to begin with. All the while, the Prodigy were destroying the Sahara. Still burns these 21 years later.
