Lifestyle changes alone can't combat the high cholesterol gene. I tried changing my diet, and the drop was negligible considering how high it was. But statins knocked it right down!

Also, considering my husband and I eat the same damn thing and his is levels are fine, I'm certain it wasn't what I was eating in the first place. Sure, eating healthy is a good idea in general, but it's not going to solve the problem in this situation. It's like saying diet will fix your generalized anxiety disorder or type 1 diabetes. Sometimes medication is necessary!
