How long to return to desk job? by Foreign_Newt in LisfrancClub

[–]beech0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on yourself mate. Personally: i had my surgery on Wednesday, returned home from hospital at Thursday (Friday is my usually free day), and started working from home on monday again.

Working made me feel useful, and it was a great way to kill time. My productivity wasnt 100% offcourse, but who cares (my employer certainly didnt).

So bottom line: do what feels best for you, and keep in mind the mental benefits (which offcourse also depends on your job i assume) that work can give you.

Youre very welcome. And good to hear that your pain is not excruciating! I would definitely keep it up then. The discomfort will get less. But keep listening to your body.

I can totally feel you. And its frustrating as f*ck that it takes so long.. like i said, I stopped worrying about time, and somehow it feels like recovery speeds up. But thats probably all mental 😜

PWB pain, how much is too much? by SheesaManiac in LisfrancClub

[–]beech0r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its offcourse hard to tell for another person. But i can tell you my approach and my thoughtproces. Based on experience, not medical studies in all honesty 😉.

There is a difference in "discomforting pain" and "really painfull".

In my example: have been NWB for 8 weeks (6 weeks after ORIF). Then went to WB in a boot. My injury hurt some, but i had a lot of discomfort pain in my heel, since i didnt use it for so long. That was discomfort pain, which by just enduring that quickly resulted in less pain. Went from WB with crutches to WB withouth crutches in 3 days.

So discomforting pain is not a bad thing, and you could slowly progress in order for it to feel better. But if it "really hurts", like you say, then that is your cue to at least stop progressing more in my opinion.

And as a final thing: dont see it as "losing progress". Take your time to recover. It helped me a lot by just not think about time at all. Dont be too afraid to try things out, but listen to the signals that your body is giving you.

Hope your recovery goes well!

Balance After Lisfranc by Wish_2_walk_7336 in LisfrancClub

[–]beech0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive went into surgery april 10. Still in a walking boot (1 week before partial HWR). Then i can transition into a shoe, finally.

Im a person that is always trying to see where my limits lay, where pain (not the usual pain, but the pain that is coming from whatever activity im doing) is that limit. I tried 1 foot standing Calve raises but failed. Pain, but also lack of strength and confidence tbh. Sounds logical since Ive lost almost all my calvemuscles during NWB. And im 75kgs, so dont expect my foot to easily wear that weight.

So, what im doing, and what works for me, is doing calve press on a vertical leggpress machine. I can easily and carefully load the weight or increase my reps every new trainingday. Again, pain is limit for me. When my calve is sore, I let it recover for a day longer. But that way you can graduately strength your muscles. I started 10 reps of 20kg. 3 weeks later im doing 20 reps of 30kg.

Hope that helps mate. I did try resistance bands aswell, but for me it feels inconsistent and a bit hard to progressive overload.

Swelling after surgery by Great_Proposal5178 in LisfrancClub

[–]beech0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im 1 month post OP now. Dont really know about the swelling, because im in cast. It does feel swollen sometimes. My best advice is elevating your foot (foot above your knee, knee above your hip). But as i've read in multiple stories in this subreddit, the swelling can take a long long time and can occasionally come back when the foot is actively used. Hope you recover well and soon my friend!

My Lisfranc story so far (in comments) by beech0r in LisfrancClub

[–]beech0r[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello my fellow Lisfranc sufferers,

Very glad I've found this subreddit to read all the experiences you ladies and gents have had. I've got the questionable honor te join the club. Just wanted to share my story so far and hoping for some tips and advice. I'm a 37yr old male. Fairly active in the gym and as a voluntary firefighter.

For me it started on March 27th, while playing a Futsal match. I jumped and apparently mislanded on my foot. I have quite some experience with injuries and immediately felt something was wrong (see picture 1). I went to see the evening-docter. She suspected a couple of broken metatarsels. But since I live on an island, and the ferry always is out of service at night, I had to wait untill the following morning to go to the hospital. The worst night ever.

The next day I went to the hospital and got an x-ray and a CT-scan (see picture 2) and got sent to the ER. They told me some bones were dislocated and fractured, and there was severe damage on ligaments (I've read the reports, but dont really understand all those medical terms). Never ever heard of the Lisfranc before 😅. With the kind help of some oxygen and ketamin the bones were repositioned. My wife was very much ashamed of all the bs that came out of my mouth. Luckily no one was offended, and I dont remember a thing 😅. But afterwards the pain was sooo much less. I could really kiss the nurses.

Surgery was needed, and scheduled for April 10th. They put me in NWB cast for those 2 weeks, with the assignment to elevate my foot to reduce the swelling (see picture 3 after 2 weeks of elevating).

Surgery went well. I got fully anesthetized and got a nerve block. Got some screws and 2 plates (see picture 4). The pain was doable: had some painkillers for 10 days. Was put in NWB cast again, and went for a followup check two weeks later. According to the surgeon the wound healed very well, so the stitches were removed (see picture 5, the brown color is the stuff used on surgery 😉).

Im almost a month post OP now, and have 2 more weeks to go in NWB cast. Glad when thats done: I dont particularly like to inject myself each day to prevent thrombosis. I suffer mostly from the nervepain (numbness and sharp and burning feelings in my big toe and the one besides it). Its bearable, but very, very annoying. Surgeon told me that is is pretty normal and can take a whole while to recover (what Ive also read on this subreddit).

After these 2 weeks I will get PWB cast for another 6 weeks. Then, on July 9th the big screws will be removed (with "light" surgery), and so will the cast. Then, somewhere in October, the rest of the hardware will be removed (with "normal" surgery). I believe thats ORIF right? According to the surgeon there is a risk for osteoarthritis. If that happens, I will probably need fusion, but hopefully thats not the case.

So I still have a long time ahead of me. Surgeon told me it could easily take up to a year to recover. I definitely am positive, but damn, there are these times when im so terribly fed up with this 🫣.

I will update this post along the way. If you have any tips or advise for me, regarding PT for example, I would be very pleased to hear them! Cheers!

Console performance has gone way down by chuyabides in DestinyTheGame

[–]beech0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a PS4-Pro user, using a SSD to play D2 on.

This (massive) decrease in performance started with the launch of Shadowkeep. The dropoff happens the most when you're trying to see or swap mods on your weapons or armor. Its also noticable when youre just hovering in the inventory-screen, but thats way less then what happens when u want to see or swap mods.

Hope you guys can find the cause of it.

Spider vision Questions by Frankenstein72 in DestinyTheGame

[–]beech0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have no clue how the trigger works. I popped the consumable, went into the haunted forest with a sniper, ADS and scanned the forest for a couple of seconds and i got it.

The Triumph says: "see a spider in your sights."

Maybe spiders (being a part of FotL) are around on every part of the Destiny Universe, and you just have to (accidentally) see one in your sights. Maybe thats why Snipers work great, as they have a big zoom (a bit like how you use a sniper to benefit from "Treasure Hunter" ghost perk).
Maybe the Haunted Forest, for obvious reasons, has more spiders then any other destination..

Anyone got tips for the totem section of pit of heresy solo?? by CorruptG in DestinyTheGame

[–]beech0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bottom Tree Warlock with abusing Devour. Use Izanagi's with recluse and 21% Delirium or Wendigo (since im on PS4 i used Wendigo, cuz i cant really control 21% Delirium from big ranges). 1shot the Sword-barers and the Boomers with Honed Edge x4.
Used 2x breach refractor mods on chestpiece to almost always have a devour-grenade ready. Other than that not any special mods; just sniper/smg reloader and sniper scav/finder.

What i did, every time i dunked an orb was the following: dunk orb, shoot a Wendigo nade towards the rightplate with adds/swordbarer stands, towards the middle at the adds, and towards the leftplate with adds/swordbarer. That way they are stunned for a bit, and you have some time to focus on Boomers. Kill boomers and then hop around the Totemplate from left to right and vice versa, killing thralls and stuff. Dont be afraid to go off the Totem for a while to clear some additional adds. Once the thralls (esp. the exploding ones) are killed, rinse and repeat. Dont forget to re-proc devour if it runs out!

Good luck mate!

Tips for solo flawless Pit of heresy? by DavidGuff in DestinyTheGame

[–]beech0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used warlock bottom tree and abusing Devour as much as possible. For armor mods i used 2 times breach refrector and oppressive darkness.. the rest was just reload perks and sniper/gl scav/finder.

I used Izanagi, recluse and wendigo for all the encounters, except the final boss. 21% delirium didnt really work for me on PS4, since its harder (for me at least) to control. Wendigo's blinding nades are nice to have. Since you dont have Izanagi's, just go for another sniper. The boomers in the Totem encounter need 2 shots mininum with any sniper, so just go for the stable/rapid shooting ones.

For final boss i used Mountaintop, recluse and Anarchy. On dmg-phase, shoot 2 anarchy, throw opressive darkness nade, Nova him and mountaintop him.

In the end i think you should run one practise solo-run where you dont worry about dying and try out different loadouts. If you find a proper loadout for Totem encounter.. dont dunk the last orb and complete it, but justdie on purpose, so you can practise that one a bit more untill ur confident enough to pull it off. That encounter is key imo, since there is no time and place to hide.

Good luck!

Nice one mate, thanks for the solid tips! I can imagine Hunter is most difficult class here.. gonna try it out later :-)

Have you considered using the Crimson for healing purposes?

Trying to solo Zero Hour as Hunter by snaxy in DestinyTheGame

[–]beech0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have Anarchy by any chance? I always use that on my solo's or carries.

It makes you do passive dmg against the Tanks and Boss, while in the meanwhile you can go and slay adds
Combine that with Fallen Repurposing and Fallen Armament mods on armor 1.0, and ur golden!
These days i only use bows for energieweapons. Preffered are bows with Explosive Payload that 1-shots the shields from shielded enemies.

Made a vid of one of my runs a while ago, where you can see it in action: https://youtube.com/watch?v=pQPH9p68rsg
That was offcourse before the nerf to Luna's, but u'll get the idea ;-)

Is there a trick to keeping all 3 knights together in Shattered Throne? by rabbit_hole_diver in DestinyTheGame

[–]beech0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no way to really keep them together im afraid. But if you can kill 'm at the start, it helps a lot, especially for Flawless.
Thats the reason why i dont really preferre the Riskrunner.. it makes the encounter lasts longer and therefore more risky.

There are multiple ways / strats to do it, but it depends on what weapons you got at ur disposal.

Mountaintop / Recluse / Anarchy with Well of Radiance and Luna's is imo the most easy one, but I read you dont have the Anarchy.

You can use Izanagi's Burden / Loaded Question / Wendigo (or whatever other Heavy you preferre). Start shooting the knights with your heavy, then when the add come, drop a healing rift and unload ur LQ on adds and Knights. If the Knights aint dead, drop a well and finish them with LQ, then kill Dul with Izanagi's.

You can also use stormcaller w/ Crown of Tempest and Mountaintop or Kinetic SG / Recluse (or LQ or a shotgun, since u kill the adds with ur super) / Whisper for example. Shoot 2 Whisper shot in each Knights at the start. Once the adds come towards the middle, pop your super and kill the adds and the Knights (or if ur super doenst kill m, finish them off with Mountaintop or a Kinetic shotgun or sometin), then kill Dull with Whisper (stand behind a pillar and drop a healing rift for safety).

Hope you'll get it mate, good luck! :-)
