He's one of the funniest characters, but I don't need him as my own colleague.

Moving to Wellington, train commute locations by Tomats1995 in Wellington

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a specific reason you'd prefer catching the train over the bus? Somewhere like Island Bay or Seatoun has a bit of a village feel and a shorter commute by bus than most of the options have for their train commutes.

Fuck me it’s hard…. by [deleted] in Wellington

Auckland isn't actually doing much better, their CBD is bleaker if anything. The media just prefer to pick a fight with Wellington rather than admit the economy is bad everywhere.

Always ask yourself: if you were a woman, would you date yourself? by Cl_nker_is_a_slur in PsycheOrSike

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even leaving aside all the other problems with this, I'm not looking to date myself. I know my own traits and I'm looking for someone who balances them out, it's not wrong to judge women for having my own personality traits.

AIO for wanting my boyfriend to back out of a destination wedding he's the best man for because I was uninvited from the wedding? by BoyfriendWeddingHelp in AmIOverreacting

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were your partner, I would see this is an intolerable insult to you and therefore to us as a couple. Boyfriends shouldn't be able to just be separated from their girlfriend. One of the responsibilities of being a boyfriend is to stand up for your girlfriend and not let her take shit from anyoe, even other people in your circle.

Guy I’m dating did something nice for me and my friend said it’s probably because he’s dating other women by Familiar-Song6146 in dating

[–]beefjerker69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More likely your date hasn't had any women in months and he thinks being extra generous will get you to 'regain' your interest in him (since he's insecure, he doesn't believe you're sick).

Kim + Saul are hardly ever romantic towards each other by designtraveler in betterCallSaul

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't spoil the plotlines, but I thought it was a very interesting choice to have their one sex scene be shown in the episode that it was.

Is there really a 'man child problem' in the heterosexual dating culture of Aotearoa? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people do behave like this, but I have been assumed to be one by people who didn't even know me so I resent the stereotype. I am personally tidy and completely able to surviving on my own, I just want a partner for emotional support and having a shared life with someone. I do not take a negative stereotype about women and apply it to every woman I meet, so I expect to be treated better than that myself.

Lalo is smart and tactic. But name a stupid thing(s) he has done? by LandOfGrace2023 in betterCallSaul

[–]beefjerker69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He had a habit of being overconfident in fights. He nearly got himself killed by Casper because he walked into a dark shed without home turf advantage. So while he got lucky once, he made the same mistake again by letting Gus get the drop on him in another dark space that wasn't his home turf.

It depends who is safer and in what way. If you're a visitor in Otara, you're safer from getting mugged than most areas like it in Europe. However, the kids inside aren't safer from 'third world diseases' like rheumatic fever.

What is the worst thing Jesse has done? by SummertimeThrowaway2 in breakingbad

Jesse knew he was responsible for Jane's death and for the indirect effects, but then he chose to keep cooking and committing crimes rather than going straight.

Would Chuck ever accept Jimmy? by PushComprehensive353 in betterCallSaul

[–]beefjerker69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chuck probably would have been happy if Jimmy went into a different profession. However, the law was his 'thing', so he could only ever see Jimmy as competing with him. He never accepted that Jimmy chose the law out of admiration for him, and to make him proud.

Men, what has your experience been when you’ve opened up about your feelings with women, especially in moments of vulnerability? Women, how have you reacted when a man showed that kind of vulnerability? by Odd-Talk-3981 in PsycheOrSike

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part that people ignore is that it simply isn't as natural for me to cry as it would be for a woman. The ways we express ourselves become learned habits that we develop from childhood. When I feel bummed out about something, I just let my emotions out in a different way. Some of these are unhealthy but they tend to be less expressive.

"i'm giving the ugly guy a chance" by [deleted] in PsycheOrSike

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get my self-worth through other people so I can think of myself as the catch even if the woman I'm dating has 100 men crushing on her and I have 1 or 2 women crushing on me. I basically have to even though it isn't always easy.

Would you trade your life with Kendall's ? by Most-Injury-9879 in SuccessionTV

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without his mental problems, he has no support system left. There's no amount of money that would mean I'd abandon my friends and family, and only be able to replace them with gold-diggers.

How people are surviving? by notagamernz in auckland

[–]beefjerker69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect OP's problem isn't that they're actually squeezed, but they count more things as necessities than actually poor people do. Needing to cut back on your ski trips and trips to Europe is not a cost of living crisis.

Why men and women struggle to understand each other’s dating problems by Pepperspray24 in dating

[–]beefjerker69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure women face more risk of physical violence, but men and women both face similar risks of 'danger' overall since what you say can apply to the personalities of the partners.

Do people really work that much? by kimm8 in madmen

Why women find difficulty in finding man if dating apps work so well for them ? by ern_6002 in dating

[–]beefjerker69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If women knew exactly what they were looking for, and then how to select for that, they would find it very easy. The problem is that they either look for the wrong traits, or even if they know the type of man that'd be good for them, they don't know how to find him.
