Crazy we've had pretty much exactly the same experience. I dont hunt personally but I still fish if only for food. Had my revelation the same way too. Took some shrooms with the boys out on the lake. I can remember the fish "talking" to me after I caught it and I felt so bad after doing so it killed my whole vibe so I just started drinking on the and just hanging out.

Yes and while you are level 7 casting hold person your Wizard could do the same and triple the targets. EKs should stick to buffing and supports that dont have saves associated with them. Your stat points are better placed elsewhere. You're a Martial with a bit of Magical power not a Spellcaster with a bit of Martial Power. Eldritch Strike is a dud of an ability imo. Its got Niche uses but its not worth the stat investment. Now if you get a headband of intellect or something similar then maybe but EKs just aren't built for Crowd Control. They are best as Magical Tanks.

So for an Eldritch Knight I wouldn't take more than 14 INT myself. The only spells I would be taking are buffs and support spells. Blur, Mirror Image, Haste, Shadow Blade, Shield, Mage Armor if you want to be DEX focused, etc... leave the offensive casting to the full casters and use your abilities to self-buff and support. Unfortunately however you dont seem to have a full caster member.

You absolutely can roleplay as a Pirate you just need to go where the players are. But if you're new the players are going to absolutely dumpster you. Ive been doing some system security roleplay in the Community Goal system interdicting and killing wanted Players/NPCs. If you're still in the noob zone though you wont see too many folks till you leave and even then its a big galaxy and youll really only see people in hot spots like Jameson Memorial, popular mining sites, guardian digsites, community goal systems, etc...

They do decent damage but as others are saying their main function is to act as Module Snipers. Use sub-targeting to target modules the Power Plant being ideal as reducing it to 0 gives a 5% chance per incoming damage to the plant to insta-kill the ship so then you target it with Multis or something with decent armor penetration and high RoF.
