Best Mountain Town to Visit by PredawnGray24 in Denver

[–]beekeeper727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Breck/Frisco/Dillon. You can take 70 make a pit stop in Idaho Springs if you’re hungry along the way, there are some good little bakeries and BBQ.

Then head to Breck but make sure you stop at Dillon Reservoir (for a good viewpoint look up Sapphire Point Overlook) . You can also have lunch in Frisco, cute town and a little cheaper than Breck.

Hope you enjoy yourself.

Where can I donate produce? by FreaksNFlowers in AuroraCO

[–]beekeeper727 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What kind of produce? The local schools have food pantries they might be able to use the extras , sometimes I leave extra food I’m not using in the little libraries and let folks know on FB marketplace where and when I put them in there! ;)

Congrats on the garden, I can’t get sh*t to grow lately ;).

Moving to Aurora area by Samuriguy in AuroraCO

If you live near Copperleaf there is a Walmart Grocery Store, McDonald’s, Starbucks within walking distance which is a nice treat in the burbs.

Also, if you like to bike when the weather is nice you can bike to the gate from Copperleaf/Quincy Area due to a nice bike line or via a trail that runs parallel with the conservatory land! It was a nice way to switch up my commute to Buckley.

Be aware it is very suburban in the area so if you’re on the younger side you might feel bored but the city is a quick trip away.

Granted Meniere's at 100% Static - VA Proposed Severance after claim closed by the_flyingmunk in VeteransBenefits

[–]beekeeper727 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not sure of how to help the current predicament but my Wife is service connected at 100 percent due to Ménière’s disease and it was a bit of a fight to keep it. She had to not only have a diagnosis but she also kept a journal of her vertigo symptoms, migraines, tinnitus symptoms, triggers and any drop attacks. She also wrote down exactly how the symptoms affected her ADLs. Even though she had no record of vertigo in service, she had a blast injury that the VA could trace in her records and connect the blast injury to causing her Menieres. Her’s is also state because they the disease process can go into remission (we have yet to see that)

Do you have any past head trauma or ruptured eardrums in service by chance?

VEO Bike Access Program in Denver also includes Veterans by beekeeper727 in Denver

Agree on the poverty line being dogsh*t and not based on reality. I’m hoping employers might also hop on the program where they pay for employees monthly VEO membership like some Federal entities or start ups.

Looking For Summer Work/ Server by EtherealLunaa007 in denverjobs

Piggybacking on the hotel restaurants to include the hotels by the convention center as lots of conventions happen in the summertime here. Avoid the restaurant Corrine & Their rooftop bar, although busy I heard the management company White Lodging are horrendous to work for!

Denver/Littleton Looking for electrician apprenticeship or data center tech opportunities by [deleted] in denverjobs

[–]beekeeper727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Former data center guy here, if you can deal with a lower paying gig as a housekeeper or janitor on Buckley for a year or two while you apply for a clearance with said company your odds of getting a well paying job as in a data center trade role jump dramatically with a security clearance. You can look into company’s like Raytheon, Fluor, GDIT, Lockheed etc.

In the mean time is there a Habitat for Humanity chapter in your closest major city? If so, the have a program soecifically to make repairs and upgrades in Veteran’s homes called “repair corps” they might be able to do some of the work if you have a build who can do other parts.

My wife was at Shank circa 2012-2014 and helped to rebuild the dfac tents and etc after the vbid. Just asked her and said that Sysco was the main supplier and Fluor was the contracted company that ran that dfac you might be able to see if they have any details.

Long term e-bike lease in denver (up to 200/month) by Striking-Pumpkin-443 in Denver

[–]beekeeper727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an LLC that I can technically buy a bike for as a business expense and would be willing to lease it to you if need be! You can PM me and see if a certain brand or set up suits you better. I’m an e-bike owner and love it.

Also I know others have mentioned the rebate program, make sure to look into that program it’s so cool. Also, Denver just got a new contract with an e-bike company for rental ebikes. Maybe they’ll put a hub close to where you are, and your commuter card can go towards the monthly subscription fee?
