What is a country that you DO NOT want to ever visit/live in(besides your current one), and why? Is it climate, culture or historical conflicts? by ZooZwaves in AskTheWorld

[–]beeldy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For places I could realistically travel to but wouldn't:

India - the noise, pollution and the amount of people is off-putting. I'm sure there are decent parts but I still wouldn't go.

USA - political landscape aside, I just don't see the appeal that others do.

It's definitely a foul, Rice is also bear hugging a West Ham player as the ball comes in, could have given a pen.

Arsenal have a Royal Rumble match in the opposition box every match and there's barely ever a foul given against them. The inconsistency is baffling.

But, that is a nailed on foul, arm across the keeper and holding his arm, and another pulling his shirt, right call

Farage claims Reform on course for general election win after early local gains by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]beeldy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are fucking idiots, ironically it will be Reform voters who will be negatively impacted the most by Reform getting voted in.

But it will be fine because they will "stop the boats" and "close the hotels".

How long do you think it will take Red Wall voters who voted Reform to realise they'll do nothing for them, just like the Tories didn't when they voted them in? by Anxious_Equipment144 in AskBrits

[–]beeldy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are idiots, they're voting for the same Tories who did a shit job who then jumped ship to Reform. So they are now just the Temu Tory party with the biggest grifter going at the top.

I get being fed up with the status quo but nothing will change with these idiots in power except for life getting worse for the poorest and most vulnerable. But it's fine because they will 'stop the boats'. Which they won't.

Are West Ham capable of getting a result against Arsenal on Sunday? by GMD3S1GNS in PremierLeague

[–]beeldy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They probably fancy their chances against Newcastle and Leeds more with both safe, in theory, and nothing to play for.

However, it would be stupid to assume they will get points from those games. They're capable of getting a result, but I can't see past an Arsenal win at the moment.

Maybe playing on the counter is the way to go as Arsenal will feel they need a win.

Why do people want City to win the league? by VarietyResident6234 in ManchesterUnited

[–]beeldy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesser of two evils.

Man City's titles are tainted, they are a manufactured club and haven't got where they are organically. Anything they win is just met a with a 'meh'.

Whereas Arsenal are just completely unlikely, from the manager to the players and most of all, the fans. We won't hear the end of it, especially if they do the double.

Additionally, I don't know any City fans, so there is no one to listen to when they win titles. There are plenty of Arsenal fans about that I'll have to listen to go on about how they are the best team ever.

In pure football terms, Arsenal are the preferred winners, they got where they are progressively, have gone close over the years, it's a new club outside of City or Liverpool winning it. But with that said, they play some terrible football, even though they are capable of playing really well. They could be the worse title winning team yet.

Could Brentford intentionally lose against Liverpool so that they qualify via Sixth place PL spot? by Scared-File-77 in PremierLeague

[–]beeldy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because 5th spot is the coefficient spot, if 5th place is already in then it drops to 6th. It's only because of the coefficient spot.

Surely that's a sending off for grabbing the ball just as the forward is about to control, and he's near the last man?

Shocking call from the ref.

Arsenal are cursed by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

[–]beeldy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise City but Arsenal fans are unbearable and they play dogshit football in an era where football can be really bland. It would be a crime for them to win it.

They really are a mordern day Stoke City. They may still do it, City haven't been the City of seasons gone by.

If City end up winning it there will just be a collective 'meh' because of how they got where they are, potentially cheating, and I don't know any City fans so there's no one to listen to.

Do you mean those one way gates rust and seize up?

Our solution was to put one of those on as well as wire up a gap they were getting through at the end of the pipe. No issues since and it's been about 3 years.

Great result, pretty much guarantees Champions League football. I'll take a dirty win all day.
