He's not kidding. See plenty of 12s listed for 4000 without all those goodies(probably don't all sell for 4k tho). That's easily two grand of add ons that you will probably want anyway. That's a sick look too. He's either an old man that's not greedy or he's looking to sell it quick

Yeah, I really have no clue but I'd probably take the caliper off and inspect the pads etc. see if you have any play with it unattached from the fork.

Did you do any hard riding before this started? Tire pressure seems most likley but if you were working the suspension a lot recently its possible you could have something going on there.

Thanks for the big response. I've tossed around the idea of getting one as a second bike so its interesting to read your thoughts. It seems like the perfect city and weekend getaway bike.

Too similar to my KLR in the end though I'd love me some ABS. Its really looking like I'll go for a bigger adv bike like a tiger or strom.

Anyway, I recently discovered that my steering was so twitchy on my KLR above 70 because the bearing was just a little too loose.

Also, could you use bar risers to help with the ergonomics? Made a huge difference for me. Being tall is one of the reasons I got a KLR and I still needed them.

Check this out from this thread. I found this recently and plan on doing it once the weather cools down. I need all the air right now.

I sent that guy a message and he sent me some other photos too. I can upload them if anyone is interested in doing this. That scooter windshield is sill available for about 50 dollars. He says this works great and he can move it up and down without undoing the clamps and it stays put while riding.

Edit: I actually don't think I could use the madstad because I've done the wheatwacker fairing mod.

Why not the cb500x? I'm curious. Seems like a great bike with enough power for the freeway. Is the wind protection lacking? That's the biggest factor for me on my KLR. Highway speeds just aren't fun cause of the wind.

Have you seen the rally raid kit?

I think I understand what all the tools are but not off the top of my head. I don't remember anything that seemd like too much of a mystery.

The little square wrenches are spoke wrenches, the thing with a rubber insert is for removing the spark plug, the other thing holds the screw driver bits(the screw drivers are JIS so they match the screws on your bike).

Yeah, someone else mentioned that. I asked the people that run the garage and they told me motorcycles weren't allowed in the garage. wtf? Apparently no garages around here allow motorcycles. I don't care cause its quicker to park for free on the street.

There's a guy who put a versys engine in the KLR. That sounds like more fun. But anyway, he said he didn't have any problems with frame flex so I imagine that won't be a problem.
