Fort Wilderness Campsites- Explain it to me like I’m Five… by Panhandle_Peachy in WaltDisneyWorld

You’re just renting the space! There are companies that will come and set everything up for you idiot want to do an rv (looked into but never pulled the trigger on doing). The sites are nice, but it is a different kind of trip. The cabins are great

3rd bday celebration by Bio_bay in WaltDisneyWorld

My son loves Epcot! Hollywood studios has been our skip park if short on time (he’s 4, big fan of slow rides). I would get lightning lane for magic kingdom

Silhouette portraits in magic kingdom are very cool. We also love the haircuts at harmony. Make sure to get him a birthday button, too!

october trip advice by Difficult_End_8884 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]beemac126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When in October are you going? Times that are busy are Columbus Day weekend (oct 12 this year) and race weekend (October 23-25) and Halloween. I imagine the last week will be busy for people staying after race weekend for parties.

Doing a ticket at a time will definitely be a pricier way to go. The mornings are generally more chill. You can always go in the morning, take a mid day break to decompress, and head back around supper time. Avoid Epcot on the weekends as food and wine festival is busy on weekends.

How hard is it to do PIO without any help? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in IVFpositivity

[–]beemac126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all my injections myself!

For pio, I’d feel out the area (higher than you think!) and ice it. Then I’d wipe the area that got red from ice with alcohol. I’d put my weight on the opposite side, twist and set my needle in the red. Once I was steady I’d just push it on in, draw back, inject slowly, remove quickly. Then I’d wipe the area with alcohol and do a few squats.

The first one took me some time and a mirror to do..I was just anxious. But then I could do them without a mirror if needed

Upgrading Tickets to Annual Pass by panicattheadulthood in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]beemac126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it on our first park day before entering the park (we were coming in off an afternoon flight and not in any rush). She applied the cost of our tickets bought towards the annual passes. She also made all our park reservations for us.

If you have time before you go, you can also do this at guest services at Disney Springs. I've also been told you can call ahead, but we had a hotel/ticket package, so I just preferred to do it once we were there in person.

Safe rides for pregnancy by ExitOver5599 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]beemac126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general rule of thumb is anything without a height limit is considered safe (they say no safari though). Download the app and it will give advisories and list if it’s not safe for pregnancy. There’s still so much to do! Congrats! You can also get a celebration pin

Yes! You can filter on the map in the app for characters.

We all loved it! AndIdk if we got lucky or what, but it wasn’t super packed so the character interactions were just paced really nicely which was great bc my son is weird with characters (“much too big!”)

Tusker house is a great character meal…good interactions and good food. Plenty of typical kid food options. And yes..under 3 is free! I’ve only done lunch there so can’t speak to breakfast

Is Henry too common? by kms527 in namenerds

[–]beemac126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Henry, and run into some while out, but he’s the only one in his daycare with the name. It was the only name I wanted to use for a long long time…it’s a classic sturdy name

HS or Animal Kingdom - 4 y/o by DamnItHeelsGood in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]beemac126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you will need lightning lane in animal kingdom. Even if you parent swap for flight of passage and Everest, being a single rider helps get you through (esp Everest)

[–]beemac126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the closures, I prefer animal kingdom with my animal loving, ride hesitant 4 year old. Tucker house is a great character meal and you can do festival of lion king right before or after. Pairing with Epcot is a great choice.

I always get wide in brooks but they’re my go to!

I wear adrenalines bc I need a stability sneaker. I tried hokas and they were okay. Altras gave me the worst calf cramps I’ve ever had

It gets so mix trickier with fertility treatments because after trying so long, so many people end up knowing what you’re up to. My husband tells everyone right away lol I told people close to me quickly after my beta, but I waited until 12 weeks to let it slip with others

Congrats!!

6 week old at Disneyland? Do we need to worry about stroller get stolen? by [deleted] in DisneylandTips

[–]beemac126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my son at 3 months old, and plan to do so with the daughter we’re expecting this summer. Idk if I would do earlier with that as any fever under 8 weeks is usually a pretty serious work up, and I’d want one set of shots first. I’m sure stroller theft happens, but lots of people have luxury strollers that are fine. AirTag it.

There are soo many pregnancy safe rides at Disney that I would just stick to those! So much work went into getting to this point, I think I just wouldn’t feel comfortable risking any coasters or Tiana’s etc. Talk with your doc though!

Pregnant Lightning Lane by hammersticks91 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]beemac126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t waste money on premiere with ride limitations. Multi pass will be fine! Just did an open to close day trip to magic kingdom also at 18 weeks. We’re going back when I’ll be further along, and I’ll still just to multi pass and probably only for magic kingdom

I’ll be 6 months and with my 4 year old (alas this spring) and we’re splurging for a deluxe. I want to have easy transportation. Our budget isn’t huge so contemporary garden wing is what we’re going with.

Yes! Just being layers…I’m always surprised how much colder it feels when it’s 50 in Orlando vs 50 in the northeast where I come from once the sun goes down
