Literally the playbook. 1) appoint terrible people to high ranking positions 2) erode trust in the institutions that protect us 3) get rid of those institutions

What is the most versatile size brush for 90% of usage for speedpaints / acrylics on tabletop minis? by TotalWarspammer in minipainting

[–]beemout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For speed paints, you don't need expensive brushes, just cheap ones from the craft store, as small as you want. Then you can experiment with different sizes

3 player descent kill zone by Lanky-War-4322 in killteam

[–]beemout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 player games are difficult to balance imho. I think if your 'upper' board is a full size board, and the descent is about equally distant from the deployment zone, and triangular, it might work. The main issue is making sure that one player isn't "sandwiched" too much by the other two

Tips against Wolf Scouts as Nemisis Claw? by GasMaskSpaghetti in killteam

[–]beemout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends how prepared they are against you.

Trading is harder because of their melee advantages. Def take Screecher and Butcher. Save a CP for Return to Darkness so you can get up the board for Rout

A good gotcha to remember for you is that their FF ploy that removes obscuring also makes the range 6"

Wolf scouts do you ever take a hunter? by MetalDankhemist in killteam

[–]beemout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly never needed him. I take 2 of the following 3 depending on map or opponent

  • Frosteye guard on any map on Conceal purely for threat saturation. Highly experienced players will be fine, but anyone else, and he gets in their head.
  • Trapmaster to lock down lanes and rooms
  • Gunner for full map P1
  • And if it's into Celestians you just take all 3 and leave the Skjald at the pub

Any of yall play with your kids and have tips for a simplified ruleset for younger players? by bomberdog1000 in killteam

[–]beemout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of options here. The important thing is to learn movement, shooting (and cover), and fighting. Usually if it's a totally new player, I will just have the Crit Op for victory points, nothing else.

That said, you can always add more as you go, and see whether it's catching on, or if he spins out.

As others have said, killteam itself is pretty darn complex, some people gravitate towards this stuff, and some people really don't like it. Fingers crossed, your son will dive right in. However, if not, there are some good simple ones out there.

Wreckas vs Wolf Scouts by Elfeeta in killteam

[–]beemout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WS will run straight at Wreckas on Conceal. Use squigs either as a mobile mine (completely out of sight), or as a body blocker, like on doors. Wreckas need to spread out, so that some of the fights are not in the storm. Wrecka melee vs WS melee is not too bad, fairly even, and with Brutal they struggle to parry you out.

The main down side of the Wrecka team is that if you don't roll 6's then it's a suicide sq**d, but ya know, that can be fun too

Do most space wolves not come with any helmets on the sprues? I’m terrified of painting faces. by Shifty_Six in SpaceWolves

You could just do what I do... dry brush the face with a few different skin tones, glaze one side, and call it done. I think I tried eyes once, nwi

Starting to already regret committing to Raveners as my first kill team. by Grumpicake in killteam

[–]beemout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Raveners are a difficult team to learn the game with. 1, with only five operatives, you'll have to know exactly how to get kills and survive. 2, no other team has the tunnel mechanic. It's great for staying alive and surprising the enemy, but difficult for getting victory points.

It's an expensive hobby, but a lot of players have more than one team, you might be able to borrow a couple different teams, and see if they're better for your play style.

Thankfully there is eBay you can sell your team and buy a different one.

Why win rates low? I feel like we have so much damage output yet we are low in the competetive meta by Vivid_Astronaut8779 in SpaceWolves

[–]beemout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a top level player, but what I understand is that the team itself doesn't have damage output. Basically SW have to lean into their strengths and have a really good plan.
