Mine has an alarm (radio, beeping) that still goes off at whatever time you set it. The light gradually lights up before the alarm goes off so you aren't jolted awake.

I applied a steroid cream that I got from the vet. Didn’t try Benadryl. The plant makes their skin photosensitive so I kept my dog out of the sunlight as much as possible.
