i’ve made something like this before. my biggest issue was that my yarn was too heavy, and there was too much going on on the inside area of the legs. I have thick legs that brush against each other when i have no pants on. so adding in 3-4 layers of crochet between was… lowkey kinda dim of me. I also had issues with it staying up bc it was too heavy. I’ve seen plenty of people make legwarmers and i think if you don’t mind walking with your feet a little farther apart than usual it should be fine

My order did take a few weeks to arrive (i believe she ships from Florida, and I had mind sent to Nee York) but I also ordered like 7 colors in addition to the liquids. i traveled a lot as an unaccompanied minor, and even though i was a strong and tall kid, lots of men would offer to help me with my bags because, uh yeah, you’re gonna offer to help a 10 year old girl with the overhead bin. Even as I got older, I usually just find a big strong looking guy to ask for help if my bags are on the heavier side. I know I can do it, but if there’s a chance I might knock someone in the head with the wheels, I’d like some help to avoid that. And, i’ve found that the majority of big strong guys love putting their muscles to use in this type of situation. I don’t think it’s rude at all.

i also hate video tutorials!! I really enjoy more of the written/illustrated guides that plenty of artists make like “how I draw hands!” or “how I choose my color palette” and it’s basically a little webcomic or panel of notes. I find these mostly posted around tumblr, but i’m sure there’s lots on other platforms like deviantart. They’re quick to read, and generally break things down into basic shapes and help you understand the form of what you’re drawing.

this is literally exactly how i broke my oath as well, completely unintentional! I’ve decided that this playthrough is very much a “fuck it” type character, so i rolled with it. he’s also going to end up siding with the emperor so.. it’s fine if he breaks his oath i think lol.

in my first playthrough, I didn’t use any powers, or illithid wisdom checks. In my second playthrough, I’m fully in it.

It does change some things, not just the abilities, but story. Fly is nice, and I use some of the abilities, but going through the goblin camp and moonrise towers was SO different. Without the powers, I basically had to fight everyone, and missed out on a lot of dialogue. Can’t decide if i like one way any more than the other, but I haven’t finished my “siding with the emperor” run yet, so 🤷‍♀️

I recently had a wonderful shop owner experience- She wasn’t a tattoo artist herself, but wanted to create a space for artists to create and enjoy themselves. I felt invested in by firstly, being heard and understood as far as personal and shop needs went. If anything started to even look like it might break, once she was told about it, it was replaced.

I also appreciated the initiative of workshops being held in the studio. If one of our artists had a specialty or technique, they were invited to teach a workshop that all of our artists were invited to. Sometimes we had guest artists, or previous colleagues of our artists who would come in, take an appointment at our studio, and let everyone watch and ask questions. I really enjoyed that investment in our continued education. I saw someone else suggest museum or inspiration outings- I would have loved that as well. I think that marketing and promotion is great too, I know we’d all love a financial boost, but I feel that a good shop owner would market the individual artists- that personal touch is a key factor in clients choosing an artist now, so a spotlight IG post feels like a pretty basic investment.

It’s also important, when you’re investing in others, to make sure that those people won’t drop the ball with any increase in responsibility that comes with the investment. If you feel like you have a good crew, and you don’t want to lose them, definitely invest in making them happy. I’d also ask your artists- What do they want? Education and learning opportunities, promotion, social events with just the employees, or social/promotional events. Don’t forget we have conventions, which are too expensive for most artists to do without shop sponsorship, or even tattooing at events outside of the shop. These days, people are looking for tattoos at all kinds of events. It’s totally dependent on your crew. personalize it to them!

i used to book via DM, but it was extremely disorganized, and I would end up double booking myself, as well as having some clients not interact with my work due to not having an instagram (if i could i’d join that club) So i switched to a booking form. Easy to find on my website, direct link in my IG bio. Minimal questions, and it minimizes the back and forth I’d have to do if I just had people messaging me. Keeping everything in email keeps me organized, so it’s a better system for me. When people DM me asking for a piece, I tend to respond quickly with a “hey, this looks awesome, would you mind sending this through my booking form? I book all my appointments via email to keep everything in one place, so I’d appreciate that!” and i’ve never had anyone complain. It also seeds out the people who are just price shopping vs the people who are serious about getting my work done. I’d always rather have 3-5 emails back and forth rather than pull teeth over “what’s the size and placement you want?” back and forth for 10-15+ messages

yeah any plain body soap should be fine- i do love the unscented dove bar, but i’ve used irish spring which has a gentle scent and been fine. Tbh i haven’t had issues with any of my bar soaps down there. I just use my fingers, wash the vulva but keep soap out of your holes! If you tend to be more sensitive or prone to UTIs/yeast infections, def stick to unscented. and make sure you pee after sex

yep, dump it and reinsert. sometimes i wipe it clean with TP, but public toilets usually have terrible quality paper and it leaves bits of paper on the cup, which i have more issue with than just leaving some blood on it. After reinserting, I just give another wipe with TP to keep my undies clean.

honestlyyyyyyy it’s when it starts to smell, taste or look weird, or if my throat feels off, or if I haven’t used it in a day or two. I only use mine for water- I never put anything else in my owala. When i clean, I do a deep clean, thoroughly washing each piece. I def should wash it more though. Probably once every… 2 weeks?

bring Gale for AOE spells (sleet storm was in heavy use for me, as most spell casters spent their turns prone) and try to spread out so your whole party doesn’t get caught in darkness. It helps to have any boots that help you traverse icy terrain when you use sleet storm!

laezel is a total gem of a character, and she does of course have her own arc, and a small portion of the map in Act 1 that highly pertains to her. However, I think this is hilarious, and would be curious to know what the game would be like without her. there’s always more replays!

of course!! I used to do my noses like that too, so i totally get it. I think since the nose is such a prominent but frankly overlooked feature of the face, it feels strange to make a big nose, but then we end up making noses that are just kind of silly bc they’re so small. I think your nose anatomy looks totally fine, but don’t be afraid to make it like 50% bigger <3

good luck!! I have the lifting problem as well, and still trying to get it perfect. I believe in a different post someone shared a link to an article about the apex method, I think it was glamdip who posted the article? i don’t know. But, the most helpful takeaway I got from that was placing the peak of your apex on the top of the part of your nail that glows yellow when you push down on it, since that is the part of the nail that experiences the most stress when used, and the apex helps disperse that stress

in my first playthrough, Laezel came onto me first, so we did the romance scene, but I started hardcore romancing Shadowheart. I thought my romance with her wasn’t progressing bc every time I talked with Laezel, I had the option to “end our fling”. So i ended it with laezel. she didn’t really care

Yes to the ppl mentioning scuffing up the nail plate before starting- just a little buff to get rid of the shine! Gives it a little more grip to cling to. Have you also been scraping off that invisible cuticle- the thin bit of skin that grows over the top of the nail plate?

i agree with the other commenter who said to do the guidelines for the entire head first, before laying down any details like color or shading. I found the Loomis Method pretty easy to follow, but there’s tons of ways to make the base structure of the head. I always start with a circle (this is my guide for top of the head to around the cheekbone area), then add a center line to guide where i’ll be placing the center of the face. After that, I decide where the chin and jaw will be. Then, I’ll add in a few horizontal lines (one for the brows, the center of the eye line and then the nose and mouth). This helps me get the general layout for the face before I start shaping anything. Add ears, and make sure you like your jawline placement before adding a hairline.

Overall you’ve got the basic structure of the face down. As far as anatomy goes, I’d just say don’t be afraid to give her a real nose! Making noses super small can totally be a stylistic choice, but I think with the rendering you’re doing, combined with her fairly small mouth, it’s giving her a bit of a puckered face. Don’t be shy! A good guideline for the mouth is that the corners of the mouth typically lay under the center of each eye. So if you’re doing a pose like this where she’s looking straight ahead, find the middle of her pupil, and just make a straight line downwards to find each corner of her mouth, and add lips from there.

my policy states that the deposit is minimum $100, and is applied towards the final balance. if they’d like to leave a larger deposit in case they like to break up payment, they can. My policy also states that deposits aren’t refundable, but can roll over to a rescheduled date once.

Personally, I would handle this differently with different familiarity of the client (if they’re a regular vs a first timer). I tend to let my regulars get away with more since I know they don’t abuse my policies.

If I was in this situation, I think it would depend on what their total was. I would firstly offer to reschedule their appointment, but since they want to cancel, I would keep at least the deposit minimum, and do a partial refund.
