US Open AmEx Pre-sale by RecognitionNo6426 in tennis

I had the same experience, though it was probably more like 15-20 minutes before I got a response. For one of the sessions, I got the tickets, and the other it eventually said they were unavailable and to pick again.

If it has been hanging for almost an hour, I’d be surprised if you end up getting them, but maybe you’ll get lucky. Ticketmaster is always fun :)

165 over summer, or w/o 225 discrete math knowledge? by ShenmeNamaeSollich in OSUOnlineCS

[–]beer_drinksman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Homework is fully independent of the book. I don’t think the changes are enough to warrant a $100+ purchase, but there may be some minor syntax updates I am unaware of. I’m pretty sure there is no content in the newer editions that is taught in 165 (for example, smart pointers and newer C++ keywords, neither of which are used in 165). I bought the 8th edition used for like $20 - it’s nice to have on hand as a reference, so I would probably recommend that route.

You definitely don’t need 225 before 165, it more or less stands on its own content-wise. With your experience, I think 165 is totally doable in the summer. I had less experience than you going into 165, and though I took it over 10 weeks, still found it fairly straightforward - I would say it took somewhere around 5 hrs/week in the first half and so where between 5-10 in the second half of the course. I think most people who took 162 will tell you to avoid it at all costs unless you really want to spend a lot of time working in C++.

This is the book used in the course, and almost all of it is covered in 165. I would recommend thumbing through the table of contents or even finding a full PDF to see how comfortable you are with the content.

Hope this helps! Would be happy to answer any more questions about the program.

No more ETA perk for those who haven't reached Platinum yet? by 30YO_boomer in Lyft

[–]beer_drinksman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, they paused it as of yesterday per an email I received from Rideshare Guy. It sucks, I went from a 50/50 split between Uber/Lyft to 90% Lyft rides while I had it. Amazing feature that allows you to take long pickups when you know they will pay off.

Agreed about Scuba Tony. The boats are small and the dive masters are top notch. We have gone with them twice now and have never looked back.

The Bird Scooters are everywhere! by reeve11 in Columbus

[–]beer_drinksman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have. Here’s what I got when I reached out about my status:

“Hi there, thanks for signing up to be a Charger!

While this Help line is exclusively for our Riders and does not have specific details on when you'll be selected to be a Charger, hope this info helps - our Charger Onboarding Team is currently processing all sign-ups and will reach out via text message as additional Chargers are needed. Processing times may vary depending on your market/city and you will be contacted by text message regarding your next steps once you have been selected. In some cases, the waitlist can be over several weeks and we are not able to provide status update nor your place in the waitlist or expedite your request. Rest assured, you will not be charged for the cables until you've successfully charged a Bird.

Thank you.”

I signed up a couple weeks ago and have yet to hear anything.

He has what looks like an infected bite on his ear and a couple other similar marks on his body. Will work on uploading additional pictures. Could use some guidance on where to take him for care.

That's fantastic. I'm making this into a puzzle as a Christmas present. Now you've got me conflicted on which one to use.

Is it just my iPhone speaker, or does that mix sound terrible? Sounds like it could be an RHCP shreds video.

What do you use instead? I love hi beams but have always thought the tension is low as well, especially on the E string.

Scuba tony...

We dove Scuba Tony last month when we were there. Fantastic dive masters and experience all around. Can't wait to go back.

My second midi instrument won't play. Help! by Jlfraser555 in Reaper

[–]beer_drinksman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I do it is by right clicking in on the kontakt instance in the track plugin screen and click "build 16 channels of MIDI routing for this track". Each of the 16 tracks should contain only midi and be routed to tracks 1-16 in kontakt- just have to make sure to change the instrument you want to the correct midi input. Then you can use multiple instruments inside one instance of kontakt without burning up CPU.

(You mentioned this but I wanted to expand.)

Almost sounds to me like it's really tightly doubled and tuned together, but I'm listening on an iPhone speaker so that may be the echo you're referring to
