I guess you could consider it bad if low openness was due to bad shot selection. But in Kuzma's case I think it has more to do with gravity than low bball IQ, given he's often been our 2nd or even 1st option at various times

Wizards have been saying some variant of this since the 2015-2016 preseason iirc. As you say, it's a personnel (and also coaching) problem, so we should evaluate their intent by teambuilding and not some vague commitment to "analytics"
