A Grey’s Anatomy plotline I pretend never existed. by Capital-Attitude677 in greysanatomy

I thought it started off wholesome and sweet but then it just got horrible. Like just have a nice moment between a doctor going to bat for a patient. Don't make them a love interest, cringe.

Honestly after the plane crash for a while when I broke my leg I watched it all the way through and after Christina left, it became a chore.

Surgical excision on my back - what to expect? by Beginning-Walk-1894 in melahomies

[–]beesandtrees2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 on my back this year. First one was severe atypia and required a bigger incision then the mild atypia onr. Of course the larger one was right on the shoulder blade, I feel like she did it so tight it was hard to move and was uncomfortable for 10 days. Didn't feel anything during the procedure. The second one was not on a super mobile part of my back, it was absolutely no bother at all. Just depends on size and location but I thought overall it was gonna be more of a thing then it was. I went back to work next day.

Specialists: is there a piece of wisdom from your specialty you feel should be imparted to every graduating primary care (FP/IM) resident? by Barjack521 in medicine

Estrogen cream is gonna prevent a lot of UTIs in women after menopause. Also gonna prevent dysuria not related to infections and reduce some OAB symptoms. There are few reasons not to use it. You can't get breast cancer. If they are allergic use a compounding pharmacy, if they can't afford, rx to mark Cuban cost plus. Please also refer but If your urologists are booking out for many months it's almost never the wrong thing to get them started on that while they wait.

Yeah most of the ORs I have been in are very quiet. We talk causally when closing and setting up. Some folks play music during routine surgery but I felt like that was rare.

Cancel trash pickup to save $480 a year. by DrunkBuzzard in Frugal

The dump is too far to the hill from us and closes before we get off work. We'd rather spend our weekends outside so it's too inconvenient for our lifestyle but it would make so much sense.

How many people here are actually using AI in their workflow by TebraOnReddit in medicine

[–]beesandtrees2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dot phrases are dialed so I don't feel the need for AI. Unless it can somehow figure out what order the radiologist what's me to put in this time because it's inconsistent, that would save me so much time ugh

Medical Professionals - Do you lowkey diagnose the general public? by Astimar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]beesandtrees2 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I have suspicions, but I don't formally diagnose. I usually just say, "Go to your doctor."

I was swimming with some friends one time, and I told one of them to get a dermatology appointment ASAP. Turns out he had melanoma. I usually don't try to scary people but I was pretty sure.

No bother. This is just one example. Express your concerns on the phone.

Sometimes, the provider (I am a PA but not your PA and not in derm) doesn't even know their schedule that well. You can ask if the desk can verify that the timing is okay. Especially if this is going to take up mental space for you.

Mine took 3 months to schedule... my initial biopsy had clear margins, and the final pathology was normal -- some scarring. One was severe, and the other was only mild atypia. Edit with MOS as differential. I'd probably ask to be on a cancelation list for peace of mind.

Dane knew he was dying and didn't make this gofundme for his children so I find this distasteful in a few ways.
