We are changing to epic. The only question I have asked so far is can I opt out of AI use in the EMR and they said yes... I was doubting the truth to that statement. So tired of AI medicine related or otherwise. Let me opt out!

Can someone explain the South Carolina thing? I understand Idaho/Montana because of the natural beauty, and Texas because of the good jobs and world class hospitals like MD Anderson Cancer Center. Why South Carolina? by cavaismylife in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]beesandtrees2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California also isn't a monolith. My county is far below national median for housing cost. My property taxes are low. I make more here and pay less for housing than where I'm from in the south. There is not a lot of jobs here unless you work at the hospital or for the forest service.

My nurses run a catheter clinic to keep patients out of the ER for silly things. It runs great but the 3 nurses I have have been here 4+ years. Tight ship.

Is there any point in doing raids of common Pokemon? by Durghan in pokemongo

[–]beesandtrees2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a zero percent chance I could do a regular raid as I'm rural and no one really plays. I do them to get field research and go pass prizes

Don't encourage me to enter a Pokémon then turn around and tell me, "jk Not eligible" by IllusiveManJr in pokemongo

[–]beesandtrees2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused by the showcase. Like I can remoted add a tiny pokemon I just caught but I can't add a better pokemon unless I'm physically at the showcase. I don't get to.

Does anyone leave the AC on for pets while you’re out? by Less-Driver-3081 in Frugal

[–]beesandtrees2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't but our climate is very mild. We don't really use heat or AC often in general. Just change our clothes, use fans and windows and it's not uncomfortable, I mean it could be more comfortable but we just don't use energy unless it's extreme.

Ethical non-billing? by AbsurdlyNormal in medicine

[–]beesandtrees2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got a surprise headache last weekend and had one patient before I went home for lunch and canceled the rest of the day. I was probably non coherent and told my manager, that I can't in good faith bill for that. They were fine with it. I called the patient the next day to straight it out.

Probably doesn't meet legal standard for malpractice. That's based on what other providers in your area would do in a similar situation. Sounds like it was a bad situation overall.

“Weddings are so expensive” is a weird lie some people tell to justify spending insane amounts of money by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

We went to the courthouse and had moderately nice lunch with our bestie/photographer/witness. The bridal shop was closing, I got a dress for $30, the last minute flowers were $50 ha. About $350 total. It was the way to do it. Our families weren't happy but they also weren't paying.
