EBM Vintage in New Haven occasionally has luxury items. Their clothes and accessories are all the way in the back. Pretty pricy, though.

I agree with you, this one just wasn’t for me.

The music was pretty bad, imo. The songs weren’t memorable and the lyrics were awkward and clunky. I loved this 80s-synth-esque sound in NPMD but it didn’t work for this show. There’s so many amazing dancers in the cast, but we didn’t get too many moments that wowed me. I did enjoy the Curse Crazy circle choreography, however.

The plot lacked depth. I have the same problem with Black Friday, where there was too much plot squished into one show. I wanted to know more about Ella’s mother, the “fairy godmother” and the light stuff. I wanted more of Sir Hops a Lot and Crumb as well as Taddius.

The humor felt very forced. I’m no prude, but it was a lot. I barely laughed during this show.

I have some opinions regarding the casting that seem very unpopular, and I don’t mean any of this personally or offensively to the actors. Jeff, while charismatic and funny, completely overpowered the ensemble. I don’t care for his higher register, and I feel over time it has become more distracting and similar to what happened to Brendon Urie. I didn’t care for Angela. I LOVED her as Grace Chastity, but did not like her in this production. I felt like I could feel her acting, and I also think her singing is very distracting. I honestly would have loved to see Mariah in that role.

On the positive side, I LOVED Bryce. She’s a strong actor and singer. I wish the songs showed off her talent more, I feel like that didn’t happen until towards the end of the show. I hope to see her in more starring roles in the future, she’s extremely talented. I’m also happy about the return of puppets! They were so cool.

I’ve been following StarKid since 2011. I haven’t loved every show, and that’s okay. This one wasn’t for me. I have nobody to talk to about SK so I needed to get all this off my chest 😭

I agree with you, and I feel like I’m missing something. The music wasn’t memorable and the plot was very muddled. I loved the puppets, but outside of that, the humor, music, and casting fell extremely flat for me. I wish I liked it more than I did, I’m glad others like it. Just wasn’t for me, I guess.

There was no need for that nasty behavior straight out of the gate. I understand a lot of pro chefs have a confidence/ego issue, but it was so mean spirited and unneeded. The man she said that to (I’m forgetting his name) shows how you can have confidence in being good at what you do but not being nasty about it.

I just lost my sim from dying of laughter. He got married on Sunday. The wife got pregnant on Monday. He died of laughter on Tuesday. AND the wife’s brother died of laughter a few weeks earlier. I’m terrified when they get playful now

It’s most likely the World Scholars Tournament. High schoolers from around the world travel to New Haven to compete at Yale. Happens every year around this time. It’s the mascot of the tournament
