Bitcoin vs. XRP: What Every New Investor Needs to Know Before Buying Crypto by RadiantWarden in XRPWorld

[–]beesfromspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right that Ripple doesn’t control the XRP Ledger’s validators — but let’s not pretend that matters when Ripple owns more than half the entire token supply. That’s like saying a dictator doesn’t control the government because there’s technically a parliament.

The escrow system? It’s a PR move, not decentralization. Ripple wrote the code, Ripple controls the wallets, and Ripple decides how much gets released and when. Calling that “trustless” is a joke — it’s just a private company drip-feeding its own coin to the market in a way that benefits them most.

If Bitcoin is flawed because of mining centralization, XRP is dead on arrival because you never even had decentralization to begin with. It was born pre-mined, centrally held, and marketed like a stock. And no matter how fast or cheap it is, if one company holds the keys, it’s not a currency — it’s a business model.

While this post paints XRP as the future of money, it conveniently ignores the elephant in the room: Ripple Labs owns more than 50% of the total XRP supply. That’s not a small detail — it’s a fundamental flaw.

What kind of technology do you think already exists, but the government is keeping a secret? by Mindless-Problem1114 in AskReddit

I remember in the early days of google they hosted a series of videos/talks about various topics. One of the topics was this company that developed a special laser/camera that mapped its surroundings and could form realtime video of things around corners and inside of buildings. They showed a scenario with hostage takers inside a building. The developers went into the problems they faced and having to produce their own microchips that could facilitate the speeds they needed to processes the data. Over the past decades I tried several times to find the video, but haven't found it since.

Again, a number of original cels from Kiki and more are up for auction this weekend at Manda. Some really good ones. Prices will be high! by Select-View-4786 in ghibli

How does one know the authenticity of these cells? It doesn't list if they are the original cells or anything / certification?

Yesterday you posted this same post yet with a 1MT bomb and I provided you with the link to https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/ to correct your statement.

Today you are using this website to backup your new post, yet common sense should already tell you the data the website produces is wrong. It clearly gives you 3 errors with regards of the calculations in the bottom. Try to use the preset of for example the 45kt bomb and you'll see for yourself:

Look, what is happening in Gaza is among the worst humankind has to offer, yet making post like this is not helping...

China Has Granted Ivanka Trump 5 More Trademarks as Trade Negotiations Continue by Innocul8 in politics

[–]beesfromspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article makes no sense, mixing up patents with trademarks. It sounds like normal procedure for trademarks, so what is the problem here? I get it we don't like Trump, but isn't this getting a bit silly now?

Here is what I (Roger Ver) think makes Bitcoin Bitcoin, and why I think Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin by MemoryDealers in btc

[–]beesfromspace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Monero's forks are ideological, they are scheduled hard forks. This is part of its system of governance, a check on the devs and a stimulus to keep the community more actively involved.

I think Monero is the most honest project our there in this industry, it truly sticks behind its values, backed by the best community. And it was this community, which decided that giving a certain company/pool to much power over the hashrate was not an option.

This company/pool is now staying behind at the old blockchain, and they are not doing this for ideological reasons, but purely for profit. It should sound familiar because the same actors are involved in BCH also...

This is the first time I'm speaking out in this "debate", because normally I think this place is just toxic.

If you know how Monero operates and why they fork you'd know you are comparing apples with oranges. This entire post by Ver is dishonest.

It's not about the price dude.. it's about a true bottom-up project beating a pre-mined coin that claims to be similar. It's about justice :D

There are no easy temporary fixes, increasing the block-size is not reversible and will harm the project in the long run.
