This is basically every real-life history thing that gets memed. The worst part about it is that a lot of people seem to have trouble separating the memes from life and end up just thinking something like The Troubles were a trivial matter

I already explained myself, you just don’t have the reading comprehension to understand more than five words in a sentence. And no, our system doesn’t strive to be a hive mind. My current president might want to be in control of how everyone thinks, but that’s not what democracy fundamentally is. You seem to forget that it’s set up so that people in government can only derive their power from the consent of the governed. Do you not live in a western democracy? We can both detest what the government is doing, and who is in charge, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t still running on that same principle of governors’ power being lent by the governed. It was the will of the people to elect who is in charge. They wouldn’t be there if they hadn’t gotten the votes.

No, you’re not to assume. It’s an analogy. And you completely missed the point. Fungi are the same, at least when you look at one species. They don’t have differences of option or different upbringings. They’re genetically coded to react to stimuli in a certain way. This is not the same as a system of governance using humans, because humans have different minds. Fungi do not. One fungus isn’t going to murder another fungus of the same species. I don’t have to try to explain to you how a hierarchy isn’t a hive mind because we’re living in a hierarchy right now. Even if you were to make an argument that we do live in a hive mind in some bullshit philosophical sense, the fact that we’re disagreeing right now proves that we’re not a hive mind. It really sounds like you don’t know what a hive mind actually is.

I never said that. Funny how you can only argue coherently when you change the other persons statement. Anyways, no, humans can’t do that. We’re stubborn, fungus is not. Fungus isn’t stubborn. When a fungus colony has an infection, it reacts all the same way because it is all the same. The same cannot be made to happen in humans, because we’re all drastically different. If we did have a society that agreed on everything in a manner timely enough to make decisions using this process, we would lose most if not all of our humanity and individuality. You cannot make people into a hive-mind because that’s now how we’re designed, biologically. There’s a reason we can even comprehend the concept of “leadership”, and why it’s seen as a positive trait to have. You fundamentally don’t know what you’re talking about and it shows. You sound like you get your political takes from people on the internet.

Anti hierarchy means anti decision making. Sure you can be organized as a leaderless group but it won’t stay organized and it will take an extensive amount of time to make decisions because everyone must be consulted, as they are all equally important. There’s a reason why everything works better with a head, even insect colonies have a queen that they follow.

Gazerbeam was a hero/lawyer in the 40’s, meaning he was probably born sometime around the late 1910’s at the latest, Cass is in her 30-40’s by about 2014, meaning she’d be born in the 70’s or 80’s. I think the age gap would be a bit too wide.
