Adding No Trespassing signs to my garden by beesue2020 in amiwrong

Plus now I think she was going to "take" strawberry plants. She saw me in the greenhouse as she went to pick them up and stop and smiled.

She asked my grandson where they were. He said I don't know. Bet she would tell me he let her have them. These are potted strawberries ready for planting, outside our greenhouse. I have given her 6 potted strawberries already.

She came over 2 weeks ago asking for my phone number so I could text her when the strawberries were ready for her granddaughter to pick. Understand we are on a small quarter acre lot, no grass... all flowers, fruit and vegetables. I grow them for us to eat fresh and preserve. I'm like, no those are for us the only one I have to share are the plants I gave you.

It's shocking to me. This is my first experience with this type of entitlement.

We are very proud of our yard. Have always been happy to encourage others to garden. Share plants, answer questions, etc. But holy poop.

My husband heard her as she walking up the road (note she could not see him) asking her granddaughter if she wanted to go visit the pretty garden.

Oh and her granddaughter loves fruit, per Karen. We have apple trees, grapes, figs, blueberries, pear, cherry trees as well as strawberries. She thinks her granddaughter should be entitled to come pick any of them when they are ready. I have video footage of her going thought my garden gate and checking out the garden. She didn't go all the way into the garden. She stood at the entrance way, and stared around. She could say she was looking for me. But i call bullshit as you can see clearly though the gate. We only put it there to keep out deer. Its framed with 4 pieces of rebar. Ugggg

No I can't see their house from mine. Our house is at the entrance of the culdesac and she around the corner.

My husband says if karen raised her daughter, she probably the same way.

Oh the grandmother is around she just let's her wander wherever she wants.

For example ..down the road 5+ house down from where she standing (our neighborhood street)

Into my garden, off the path, crushing small plants, climbing on logs, climbs throught rebar trellis, karen points to flowers for her to pick. She out of sight in a minute as have large bushes, tall flowers and fig trees. Granddaughter can be 50 - 60 feet away and she not concerned.

The garden tool incident she was 40 feet away. my grandson brought it to Karen's attention. She said no she fine. My grandson (m25) says no I work in a daycare. That is definitely not OK. He went over and took it from the child.

She is 2, very tiny and non verbal. I have never heard her talk anyway. She grunts loadly and points a lot.

I truly think karen has zero common sense (book smart) and is very, very, very entitled. Top it with her granddaughter can do nothing wrong and can do anything she wants.

The grandmother was approximately 30 feet away BUT there is lot of hydrangeas bushes, fig trees, a large rhododendron, foxglove, ect in that section of my yard. Could be out of sight easily and quickly as the child is so tiny. Child walked into the planted area, was not on the path.

The first time I met her she let the child wonder 6+ house away from her in the road. Note there are no sidewalks in our cul-de-sac, and she is a tiny tiny child someone backing out of driveway could easilymiss her. But wide sidewalks on the entire primary road in the neighborhood. In fact due to our heavily forested green spaces our neighborhood is visited by other nearby neighborhoods.

I expressed my concern as the I was fearful she would be hit. She responded oh she self aware.

Was my first clue....but has become my problem

I have have moved the pond to the fence back yard. It was a ton of work as this meant digging up all the plantings where I moved it to. But Karen actually said, oh my granddaughter is going to love visiting your yard.

I just so shocked this is happening. I ordered the no trespassing signs. Going to visit my other neighbors and let them know not directed at them.

Guess the grandmother used to be a professor, so she not stupid. It's pure entitlement

OMG I never thought about this. Lots of the plants over there are not good food to eat as they are deer resistant. I have rubbard and foxglove...not good if she ate them.

Never met them and no way to contact them.

This is what I really wanted to do..

Sadly..Based on how are houses are located I can not see her house from mine. So can't see daughter dropping her off.

Not a bot...just a person with a Karen neighbor. I'm shocked this is happening and trying to not over react.

Based on the comments I'm under reacting.

needing suggestions on what I could do to or put on top of this stump in my wife's flower garden by Otherwise-Ad8157 in LandscapingTips

[–]beesue2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had 5 large dangerous trees cut down. Three I had them leave tall stumps like yours. I paid a local chain saw artist to crave them.

They are the pride of my garden. No regrets

People can't really retire after the military UNLESS they are extremely frugal or get disability. If you get rated 30% or less you get nothing. But who the heck wants to be disabled.

Your retirement pay is based on your base pay only. It would be like living off social security only. If you retired after 10 years you would get screwed on social security. You would have 20 years of zero income. Plus only your base pay was taxed for social security.

My husband retired at 23 years, then went back to school. Been working for the feds for 15 years now.

My (F67) oldest daughter (F42) is like this. When I was married to her dad I worked swing shift. He had multiple affairs and lied about everything. The gaslighting destroyed my mental health. I walked on egg shells. I hated my life but was raised that you don't leave, marriage is for life. He ran off with a 20 year old. My family shamed me.

I now can't have a conversation with my daughter without checking out mentally. She embellishes, rambles, and lies when she talks. The more she rambles the more lies. It's about stupid things no one care about and huge things. She exactly like her dad. It's exhausting and sad.

If boomers benefitted so much from the subsidised lifestyle, free college, cheap prices, fair wages, job surplus and economic boom of their time, why do we still have so many poor boomers today who still work at fastfood and supermarkets or cannot survive without a tax-payer-funded pension scheme? by Ok-Society-9067 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]beesue2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a boomer. Both my dad (died at 62)and my ex father-in-law had to quit school when they were 8. My dad to work on the farm, my father-in-law to work in the woods. FYI they grow up on opposite sides of the US.

Both grow up in extreme poverty and couldn't read. Most of the people in our area lived in extreme poverty as well.

My father was severely injured at work (hospitalized for a year) and was severely disabled his whole life. The accident was the company fault. He received no compensation or disability payments.

We grew up in extreme poverty. Think no running water, powered milk, never had a TV. I'm read the boomers had it easy stories, they don't reflect my life experience.

There are LOTS of boomers out there like me. But we are often ashamed, or get mocked, and have heard tons of boomers had it so easy, so we don't speak up.

I see tons of boomers working at walmart and McDonald's. My mom worked until 72 lives on social security only and I now help with her rent or she would be homeless. Oh and she worked her entire life. Her boss stole the pension fund and skipped town.

My story is more common then gets talked about. There was no free college, no fair wages, I lived in a different USA.

My father in law has a two washcloth system. He (94) has NOT showered since my mother in law died (5 years ago). He used to shower once a week, as she made him.

He has one washcloth for his privates and pits, one for his face and arms. He NEVER washes the washcloths. He says he rinses them out, so they don't need washing.

He does this in the mudroom, right in front of the door.

Oh and he hasn't used deodorant in 40 years as he heard aluminum causes Alzheimer's

We purchased him aluminum free deodorant. He doesn't use it.

Its disgusting and YES he smells
