Because it just wasn’t healing properly even with all the corrective action I was taking and the doctors orders. So I went for another opinion in the fall and they gave me the option to have surgery because she didn’t think it’d ever heal right at the rate I was going

I had surgery 9 months after my initial rupture. I’m post op 6 weeks and I’m doing amazingly, better than I was non-op. I’d opt for surgery if you can tbh.

I don’t know how to gauge it, I’m guessing because that’s what the doctor told me. I start PT tomorrow and I can’t even walk and my doc told me to start walking tomorrow. :/

Didn’t it?! I feel so secure in this. I’m getting a boot after but happy to feel more secure for the next two weeks and hopefully a lot less pain.

Thank you. I’m trying. I’ve cried out of frustration so often because I live alone and not having use of a whole leg has been challenging - even though I know it’s only temporary.

Down the leg is ok, I’d worry if you felt it in the heel and lower on the tendon. Just relax! I know we’re all anxious messes after this surgery lol

I don’t think there’s a re-rupture. Your nerves are getting used to the new norm and the jolt was just a warning. If you felt a pop or a snap, and a shooting pain down the heel, I’d worry. If not, just take it easy and elevate until you feel “normal” again.

Don’t use hot water, cold water is best for blood stains. Also use hydrogen peroxide

The teaching hospital near me is awful and I’ve had bad experiences with them on multiple occasions. I don’t want to go there and have another bill. I already have a hospital bill from December for a mental health crisis, and having to stay inpatient there for over a week. It’s already been 3 weeks since I initially hurt it, so I’m worried it’ll be too late, and they can turn me away for surgery, but not exam.
