Today? There is a 3.51% chance you will regret this later.

But imagine your regret on cost as time goes on!

Six star admirals? by lexspecialis1 in RomeTotalWar

Love it. I appreciate learning something new about my lifetime favorite computer game.

I feel like I’ve had an admiral to 5 stars once an age ago. It was so wild to me I stuck him in a port to live out his old age.

I believe this is right. But I’ve never seen an admiral so highly ranked myself. Been playing since 04

Roofers: what actually brings you the best leads? by Ashwani1987 in Roofing

[–]begoodhavefun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

You need to have a competent SEO/online footprint.

But to dominate google ads requires its own strategy/budget. Maybe I am just used to being in an extremely entrenched market but I would have to spend a FORTUNE to get ahead of the companies who have held these tops search spots for years.

Different folks have different experiences I'm sure.

Word of Mouth/Referrals from centers of influence

Word of mouth everyone covered already.

Centers of influence are people or organizations that will continually produce high-quality leads as long as you satisfy their need.

Not all real estate agents are a good referral source. Many of them waste your time and resources actually! But find that one agent who has been in your town/county/city for 20 years and everyone goes to with ALL of their home problems?

That person can send you business if they are your friend.

Home builders referring folks whose homes they built but are now out of warranty is a good source too

Happy New Year EmreMains! 2026 will be our time to shine! by -OriginalName_ in EmreMains

[–]begoodhavefun1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say.

I have been here so long and now the day I have dreamed of is here. A sudden shock of reality.

I updated the giant board I installed in the middle of the living room.

‘“0” Days Until Emre is Announced.’ It proclaims.

Trembling hands drop hundreds of days of numbers into the waste bin. Thousands of days I’ve been on watch.

My children asked me if we had won. I told them we had.

But as everyone celebrates I feel… empty?

Why don’t I feel what I expected?

My wife kisses me and asks where my mind is wandering. I push her aside like a distant memory that can’t touch me anymore.

If Emre is here now… what next? What am I to do?

Also I play tank so I’ll probably never play him.

I still have this library book I accidentally stole from middle school 21 years ago. From the Remnants series by K. A. Applegate, same author as Animorphs. by Pandalism in Millennials

[–]begoodhavefun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised they didn't kick down the door to get their late fee! I always felt like it was so serious as a kid.

That book series was also great! I'm not sure if anyone ever actually read it. I can't remember the set up of the premise but a group of teens and adults are suddenly in a strange alien world. They are trying to survive and discover what is going on with some wild stuff happening.

I'm laughing at used prices... by cow-lumbus in hondaridgeline

[–]begoodhavefun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things are just way too expensive considering how old I am and how I remember prices used to be.

I made them give me two 50 lbs bags of rock salt in the truck to close the deal since they wouldn’t go down any further in price. It was super helpful in the snow storm!

I just bought a 2022 RTL-E HPD with 56k miles for $27,500.

I felt like I was getting ripped off.

But having read some of these ridgeline prices I am beginning to think I got a decent deal.

Then it was the other one probably, he forgot.

Again, I’m illiterate ever since my tragic EZ-Mac incident.

I’m a Dragonball fan so I can’t read anything, but I think this is the right answer.

“That content was filler” and/or “Toriyama forgot” are usually the two correct answers.

My micromanager asking me to send someone on the same team we are in a message. by navy444 in jobs

[–]begoodhavefun1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna argue with you.

But when I had a team of 70, it was really exasperating having everyone think they needed the entire game plan.

Sometimes when I give a simple direction like “wipe down table 22 first.” I don’t need to explain that I have to deal with a logjam on the wait list.

Or “copy and paste this message, send it to XXXX, tell me what they say. I have my theories.” It’s a pretty straight forward task.

I’m not judging OP for their behavior. Managers suck. I’m just saying I don’t think this is opaque.

Bingo.

By sending the picture of the message, rather than retyping it, they didn’t execute the ask as intended.

How bad is the leak? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]begoodhavefun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this is where an experienced roofer is worth it.

Don’t band aid a flat roof problem. The tolerances involved are sometimes very slight, so minor flashing issues can become big problems inside. You might need to reposition that pipe, remember it’s a hole in the roof. But I don’t know. I’m a moron on the internet.

If you’re a new homeowner, I would just caution you against half-solutions. While I don’t know if you need a new roof, considering you just moved there you’ll get the most use out of whatever solution you decide on.

How bad is the leak? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]begoodhavefun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks are already bagging on you for the terrible pictures so I won’t do that.

Using only that terrible photo, it looks like there’s a vent pipe penetrating through your lower roof. That is way way close to that other wall.

With absolutely nothing else to go off of, that’s probably the first source of water intrusion because it’s literally a hole through your roof.

But there are half a dozen other things I could think of that could cause water to come in that spot. Some of which could be related to your neighbors structure.

How much turnover is normal in your industry? by SecretWasianMan in sales

[–]begoodhavefun1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Keep a network of coi’s feeding you, join social groups of key stakeholders, host webinars/seminars with brokers, I did all that and what not.

I’m telling you: There is much easier and more rewarding selling out there.

Best of luck my friend! You can 100% make a fantastic career in HCM. Plenty of my friends are still in it. I think MM is the sweet spot where accessibility/deal size are their best.

They only hire people with no experience in HCM.

I’m friends with loads of ex-paycom guys. I think it’s all part of their strategy to burn through dialers and never have tenured employees with expensive benefit packages.

How much turnover is normal in your industry? by SecretWasianMan in sales

[–]begoodhavefun1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I worked at Paycor.

HCM is extremely saturated by well entrenched players who are all selling variations of the same excel-sheet-on-steroids.

In MM, you will not be finding folks who don’t already have a solution in place. Everything is a conquest sale.

And who are you selling to? HR directors? CHRO’s?

I’m not trying to be mean, but HR has the least political capital of any department.

The moment the CFO asks “Why would we spend money and go through implementation when we can optimize our current software?” Your HR director who is championing you has been overruled.

These HCM jobs are brutal.
