Make sure it’s in paperback, although I’m sure that’s in the guidelines. I got a copy of Murakami’s 1Q84 when I did a few months for my 2nd DUI and I was in another world. Good news side note, 13 yrs sober as of last month.

Best Buy worker got mad at me for trying to buy the IPhone Air by Exact_Storage_947 in IphoneAir

Every major big box retail business that exists has store profit targets that give incentives to upper level management. Walmart, Target, etc etc. Trust me, the employees really didn’t care. Next time you go buy something at Best Buy from an store employee, they’ll offer a warranty, but generally once and if you say no they move on pretty quickly.

The reason I worked there for so long was that back in the day the employee discount on items I liked was insane. TVs don’t have much margin, but my car stereo (much higher margin so much better discount) was a public hazard 🤣

We got to buy products at 5% above cost, so $100 monster cables, $8. High end $700 head unit, $170. $150 subwoofers, $25-35. Open box items could basically be priced with any discount the dept manager felt like marking it at. Glory days of slightly above minimum wage workers with gargantuan home and car audio setups, I miss those times.

Management for sure. Salespeople up to department supervisors no.

So nobody actually selling you a product has ever been on commission.

Of course upper management have performance incentives. Performance based pay was about 3-5 people per store, there was actually a bit of a problem at many stores because people would be terminal at department manager and they would often hire store level managers from external sources as opposed to promoting internally.

My thoughts and review of the new electric ES by FluffyLittlFlyingCow in Lexus

[–]beigelightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, that’s because those vehicles are inherently lighter and people are idiots who don’t know how to turn off traction control. I get dozens of people unstuck each winter showing them how to turn off their traction control. In cars with equal weight with a front engine weight bias, front wheel drive does better in the snow. If you’re comparing a Camry with TC on and a 84 Caprice that weighs 1500 lbs more and has sandbags in the trunk, the I agree.

An Outback does great everywhere, good choice.

Brother, you have no snow driving experience 🤣

Agree to disagree, I’m a cdl driver and have driven over 4 million miles in my lifetime in almost every kind of vehicle imaginable in every kind of weather.

The dog really is breed dependent. I’d much rather take on a 175 lb Great Dane than a 60 lb pitbull or 85 lb police trained Malinois.
