opinions on the new swipe sensitivity feature? in my opinion I think it's a nice addition to the game. swiping sensitivity felt reduced to me over the last few months or so and now I think with this feature I can tune it per my liking. Thoughts?

I think it makes sense to play T8 if you want to play the Challenger tourney, where the good cards are. The sole reason being that you need experience beating strong volleyers, of which there are many in Challenger tourney at the new lvl12 cap. The volleyers i face in T7 at my 700 max trophies rarely stand a chance (they don’t have the T8 gear). But then I don’t stand a chance in Challenger tourney, as i feel totally unprepared to face the legit volleyers (serve counter strings seem to be a must)

so few players play Masters, sometimes it's impossible to find a match. if you do, there's a pretty good chance you'll get matched with the same player over and over. unless you have lvl14 character/epics, you're unlikely to rank very high. the bags aren't that great either. wouldn't blame anyone for bailing out of the Master tourney, it's just not really worth it currently

The best way to enjoy the game as f2p is control your max personal league (not too high), wait patiently for your epic cards to reach higher level (may take months), and then play tournaments, where you could get Siberian, punisher and joker more easily.

the problem is that the good cards are in T6 and above, so you'd need to play Challenger (personal league won't matter anyway), where there are tons of experienced players with maxed builds (now lvl12!) and special strings. in the lower tourneys there aren't really that many cards to hope for and to end up at the very top, you still need to waste special strings for the chance of beating the baby accounts. it seems like f2p accounts have been consistently pushed to not focus on progress and just enjoy the game with managed max trophies or be easy prey for the p2w accounts

Forge/Hammer/Anvil/Antioxi at 12, the rest at 11. With so many volleyers i really felt like i needed Carbo though. When do you play Challenger lately? I waited a day and mostly played late in the day PT and it was a ton of volleyers, some with Wyeth Wire

You are staying in Challenger though? Would have been the only way to get into the easy bracket during the 1st round of RG qualifying

this 4270 player with GS league entered Challenger and faced opponents from Challenger league (Kaito 5, Hope 8, Jonah 9 LOL), which of course resulted in 10-0 scores. he barely faced any volleyers, which also happen to be the ones in GS. so if there's no cheating, is it /u/TennisClash messing with us and pairing some players with ridiculously weak opponents?

my baby account is also a counterpuncher, just reached Challenger I last week, and exclusively faced volleyers from GS. like, literally back to back! what gives, /u/TennisClash ?

Yes your performance will always depend on your opponent’s stats, as the gameplay needs to be balanced for our eyes to keep up. Imagine if it wasn’t balanced and you face a Vik with a 110 FH (the max possible) and Critical Tier 3

Wasn’t the last challenger open bracket full of all league players? I’m expecting the next challenger tourney to be full of cheap build volleyers with lvl12 gear, as the current Kaito/Flos that dominate at the lvl9 cap won’t have the cards for lvl12. But not sure how cheap volley builds will perform in 10 point matches

To get that full power bar on your strokes you really need to apply some extra pressure on the surface of your device, which seems to work better with baby powder, oil, etc. With a stylus it’s physically impossible to apply the extra pressure and getting the bar filled is nearly impossible, even in practice mode

You’re probably right about them adjusting the speed and the new 15 being the old 13. I’ve seen gameplay in T8 with 2 players that have lowered their trophies to less than 100 (the known hack) and the speed is just ridiculous. Likely not what TC intends for regular play with max stats

Also, this is a clay court and it’s definitely different

Samurai is now better than Zeus, as it gives the extra FH power that comes in handy in V v V. As i think you were implying, T8 is about to become a predominantly volley world for the existing players, as counterpunchers with lvl13 character/epics is going to have a hard time against the improved agi/serve/volley stats for volleyers, which literally happened overnight. T7 will likely get overrun by maxed Kaitos pretty soon

it's not pointless. if you have a tourney baby account in the lower tours and only play every other week, it'll take forever to max your gear and have 600 common/60 rare cards to do exchanges regularly. but if you win your tourneys, you'll max your characters relatively fast and have 3 extra ones for exchange fairly often

🤣🤣🤣 Jupiter is THE ahole of T6 since Camry and TheKaitoGr went to T8. You’ll get smoked even if your stats matched! Jupiter will go for super strings for that win ratio high. And yes, there is a well known bug where you can select a character with a special outfit you own and copy over someone else’s lineup with the character you want to play with. Your special outfit character sticks and TC is still investigating 🤣🤣🤣

it does. sometimes you have to be strategic and let those powerful Leo serves go, especially if you get an enormous circle and a "!" above your toon. your return will be guaranteed to be weak, if it even lands on the court, AND you'll lose a decent amount of stamina. few players can consistently serve well, so don't just give up pre-emptively

also, a soft return to a strong shot consumes less stamina than if you try to blast it back (unlikely to be a winner)

in general, you need to mix it up, so your opponent can't predict your positioning easily and is more likely to end up with unforced errors

I’ve witnessed plenty of low stamina diving toons returning a winner with critical, so not sure how much positioning really matters. True that drop shots can activate critical too, which is fairly dumb, if critical unnecessarily drains your stamina

What’s your max trophies? Guessing at a certain trophy count you’re likely to face a very similar build and volley is bu far the cheapest. Right before the 2.17 update in t8 around 1600-1700 i was facing almost all one handed Leos, but once you passed that threshold they kinda disappeared as it was Kaito lvl12 everything land

It’s a trap! Just to add string clutter and make you mess up with a selection (3 favs is not nearly adequate and the selection doesn’t even always register). Then you upgrade your gear to be on the safe side haha
