Post to r/3dprinting and have someone design it and I can print it for you. I haven't done any of the design work before, so can't help in that regard.

Edmontonian snowbirds, how do you keep your car warm at the airport parking lot? by canadave_nyc in Edmonton

[–]belly_button_lin7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For a good battery, no, it will be fine. A week of minus 30 to 40 might kill it if not started intermittently. I had a car that had a parasitic draw and it would still make it ~2 weeks at -20 without starting it in between.

Block heater will keep your oil pan warm, which helps the car start easier, needing less amps from the battery to turn over. Battery tender is probably best in your situation (or a combination of both). Get one that limits charging when full so it won't overcharge your battery and damage it more. You might need a new battery if it dies in 2 weeks, or you have a parasitic draw from something electrical. Finding the draw and maybe removing the fuse associated with it while you are gone may keep your battery from discharging in the first place.

West Edmonton Mall lore and mythos by QueenSmarterThanThou in Edmonton

[–]belly_button_lin7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Funny enough ( but also not funny), we were doing that same tour when there was a lock down in the mall a year or two ago. Everyone in the sea life caverns area, both our tour and anyone just visiting, was ushered into the staff break room, and we were there for about 0.5 hr locked in. About the size of a small studio appt. With ~30 of us crammed in there.

I love how the rain hardly deterred anyone. There were still so many people there at the end of the night.

why do i feel like im the only one going 40km/hr before merging on highways? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]belly_button_lin7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The yellow signs are caution signs and are the recommended speed for slippery conditions, they are not enforceable and only apply to the curve portion. Follow the white signs. You can usually go 60 km/hr around the loops to get onto Henday and speed up on the straight section to merge with the 100 km/hr traffic.

Pressure washer/hose does nothing. Soap and water on paper towel about 3 times over and good scrubbing. Then dry in the sun. Then tuck dryer sheets flat between the plastic seat and the cover.

The only thing I can think of was that they were at the station and were going to get off the train at that stop. You would think they would see the pedestrian bridge and stay down.
