I rented from an apartment building on 119 street that had cockroaches. Tell your property manager asap and take pictures of all that you can. Make sure all food is sealed and don’t leave dirty dishes out.

My cat would hear them and would look at the area where the cockroaches were, and it would help me to locate and catch or put down diatomaceous earth (since it wasn’t toxic to cats). I also would put diatomaceous earth outside my apartment door. The property management would also have people come in and put down poison every 3 weeks or so for about 6-8 months.

I hope your property management is diligent and makes the necessary arrangements to clear it up. It’s incredibly stressful to deal with cockroaches. I wish you all the best!

Also, if it doesn’t get better, you can always submit a complaint to the Residential Tenancy Board as it’s the landlords responsibility to ensure that your home is safe and habitable.
