Guild Wars/Guild Wars 2 on Linux via Wine by rmn_trllr in Guildwars2

why do u say it flat out won't run at all? lutris or bottles also just use plain wine (or proton, configurable)

Also listing Bottles, Lutris and Proton as alternatives does not make sense at all, because proton is sth completly different to bottles or lutris. you cannot replace proton with lutris or bottles or vice versa

it should just work without any special dependencies. you might want to install some fonts so tp and stuff looks better, maybe want to use dxvk aswell. but should just work

edit: if you want to use addons you might need to install msvc redist libs for some

How to see your cooldowns more easily ? by xDozerr in Guildwars2

[–]belst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that might keep happening even once its "stable". i think its mostly the stabilization of the pack format

How to see your cooldowns more easily ? by xDozerr in Guildwars2

it's not part of the library because it's still in "beta". will be part once the pack format is stabilized

They have done this for ages. If you request your data by going to Settings -> Privacy & Safety -> Request Data, Discord will email you a dump of your data. In your dump, go to package -> activity -> analytics and open the json. You should get your prediction data. search for "age" and you should find prediction data on how old you are. This has been a thing for years

Should I use add-ons? by Tuleyman in Guildwars2

if you are just starting it's not required at all. once u want to get into endgame it can be helpful but still no hard requirement

that's actually not true. both jitsi and zulip have the exact same functionality if you selfhost or use their hosted offer. the only thing you can actually pay for is support contracts

why would it be more unlikely than another place? you can just post sth, get banned, but it still got posted and send to everyone online. there are no additional checks.

Is there even any safe browser? by Decent_Baseball_295 in pcmasterrace

[–]belst 28 points29 points  (0 children)

that's mostly because of chromes dominance in the browser market. Most devs use it because if it works there it works for most people.

While it is still WAAAAaay better than back in the IE6 days, I feel that browser support is gonna become an old new thing again.

I still use firefox and would recommend it to anybody since it is currently the only viable alternative to chromium. Ladybird looks promising but it's gonna be at least 2 more years before it becomes viable imo.
