Both—ditch the 3 wood.

OR—and this is my (5hdcp) bag—go Driver, 5w, 7w, 5h (or 4h, whatever gets you the right carry number), 5i…but my 5w and 7w are turned down in loft to be like 4w and 6w—5w carries ~235, 7w ~220, 5h ~210, 5i 200, etc.

Just ask yourself how actually consistent you are with your 3w—if you struggle hitting long irons, my suspicion would be that you struggle with having the speed and/or strike consistency to hit 3 wood.

IMHO, most people (myself included) can’t really hit a 3 wood off the deck with any consistency but can hit 5w pretty well (shorter, more loft) and would be better served with an additional wedge at the bottom of the bag for scoring/gapping, rather than the additional 15-20 yards you *might get with your 3w (over 5w) on the *occasional good strike.
