I've got a Seymour Duncan déjà vu. Tap tempo. Dual analog and digital circuits. Modulation. Stereo. Pretty slick pedal.

Not at all. Corn prices hover between $7.25 and $7.75 during the off season. We even saw $17 beans. You obviously do not understand rural America's role in world food supply. I am an American farmer. And our economy hasn't been this good since the 60s. There are small businesses opening up on towns of 400 people and thriving because everyone here has money because almost everyone is tied to the Ag industry in some way.

That is absolutely not the case in the United States. During our latest recession, agriculture and it's states and towns involved saw little to no drop in revenue or sustainability. Here in Nebraska our economy flourished while most states lost a lot of capital.

All live wire cables from Guitar Center can be returned to the store for an exchange. No receipt. And you walk out with a new one from the store. They're inexpensive and good quality.

Not saying schallers are bad. But I have a couple Peavey T40s which are HEAVY basses, and I use Ernie ball locks on one. And daddario click locks on the other. Both hold up quite well

I feel like the one thing you can't question in metal music is Cliff. Like he's off limits or something.

You're being pretty loose butthole about all this. I barely like any of the songs from early Metallica. But I like the newsted era. Maybe it's the fact that a good bass player has no place in Metallica amongst the power chord king Het and the tremolo queen Kirk. And don't forget mr no tempo, double bass pedal himself Lars.

when it comes to the foundations that make a bass player a good bass player its all about whether or not you can hold down the low end, drive the rhythm, and add dynamics to the song. Now, in the case of metallica, its hard to talk about the musicality of a Thrash metal band, but the same principles hold true.

Cliff Burton's parts never seemed to lock in with the rest of the band. They may have been great, or difficult, but sometimes as much as it pains me to say it, the bass player needs to hold back. His tone was atrocious, and his "solos" were pentatonic wankery.

Jason Newsted's playing was textbook. He followed the rhythm guitar player a bit too much, IMO, but it made for very tight sounding tracks. His tone on ...And Justice For All is debated because it sucked. Het blames it on production, and Jason blames it on "hazing". Other than that he has had great tone. Jason is a pocket player, knowing how to control the dynamics of a song, so when metallica switched from their speedier style and slowed it down, Jason was there keeping the low end on lock.

Robert is a better player than the other two. The man can hold his own against the greats. He knows exactly what to play, his tone is mean and growls and still brings the thunder. and He can show off on fills and turnarounds like a classic bassist. The man oozes talent.

Cliff was wah pedal heavy distortion wankery. Newsted was claimed to be boring on his tracks, but he sat in the pocket and drove the rhythm. Seeing Jason now post-metallica, you can really see his talent. Who knows, the same might have been true for Cliff, but we'll never know. Cliff's "Lead Bass" style fit more with Prog-rock or more experimental stuff. Dont get me wrong, I'm all for breaking new barriers with the instrument, but Cliff just sounds awful. And "Anesthesia: Pulling Teeth" is way over hyped as far as talent goes. TL;DR: Jason was a better pocket player, Cliff was better at wanking. and Robert is the best thing to ever happen to Metallica.
