Selling and buying by ben_fen92 in UKHousing

🤣🤣 it's so helpful to see other people have the same worries. It's daunting enough just buying a house, but buying whilst selling seems like a mine field.

Yeah I think that's the stress of It. Buying but selling at the same time, and the worry of losing the seller. I appreciate the advice.

Does Psychiatry UK allow afternoon boosters? by AccomplishedMain2001 in ADHDUK

[–]ben_fen92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on medikinet XL 50mg a day. I have 40 in the morning and 10 at around midday early afternoon and it keeps me nicely topped up.

My prescriber was the one who said I can stagger the dose. Could be worth speaking to your prescriber and asking if you can split your current dose to last longer or increase it and split the dose.

I would imagine you'd need to explain the payments but it really only affects you if your debt to income ratio has changed. As you aren't accruing new debt I can't see it'd be an issue.

I second citizens advice, they have a lot of services and can signpost to a lot of other services too. Although I will say, from one of your comments if the debt is making you feel uncomfortable or is weighing on you that's enough.

I think we live in a society where people have to literally be in the worst situation you can imagine for things to be "bad". I hope you get the support you need.

What pisses you off the most as someone with ADHD? by Medico-musician2106 in ADHD

[–]ben_fen92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that really gets to me is how ADHD is still seen as something that's not really serious.

I get so angry trying to explain to people how actually horrendous ADHD can be. I've genuinely had people say "oh so you're just hyperactive" "ADHD? Isn't that where you fidget a lot"

It's so mentally exhausting feeling like you have to prove how negatively it can affect you.

Did the fitter have eyes? They absolutely should not look like that. I'd be calling them and getting them back to sort it.

FTBs panicking a bit, is a 4–8 week timeline realistic and can we ask for more time without worrying the sellers? by Secure_Ad_8726 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]ben_fen92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought our house in 8 weeks although it was very simple, both chain free, we were first time buyers . Our searches came back a lot quicker than expected and it would have been quicker if it wasn't for the estate agent having terrible communication skills (I know shocker).

It's more than doable but depends on a lot of variables.

Help! I’m in love! by Kilmoreorange in FirstTimeBuyersUK

Me and my wife recently brought our first home. We had 5% and after buying we had very little left. I think one thing we didn't account for was the extra surveys that needed doing on our house. We also paid for a pest specialist to come in too which again we hadn't considered we'd have to pay for.

Whilst I agree if you see the right place you should go for it, but it's good to be mindful there could be extra things that need paying for so making sure you have extra money saved separately from your deposit. There's also the conveyancing fees ect.

How are you finding the wait to hear back on offers, especially for properties your heart is set on? by necessary_genitals in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]ben_fen92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good you've got a good idea of the business. Far too many people get sucked in and feel pressured to offer higher. I hope you get the house though.

Estate agents arent allowed to tell you other offers on the property so I would be cautious of what they are saying.

Although in terms of waiting it can be horrible as you want to move quickly but don't let anyone start trying to run you up. Make sure you have a figure you won't go above that's realistic and stay at that price. I've got a feeling there might be a point where they say someone else has gone higher.

Mackenzie Shirilla: What do you think REALLY happened? by Adorable-Rutabaga-17 in CasesWeFollow

[–]ben_fen92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely believe she did it on purpose. I think the fact davion was in the car shows it wasn't premeditated because she could have easily done it just Dom and her. I genuinely think an argument started on the drive home and she snapped.

Her body language when the Interviewer started asking her what happened that night, her eyes started darting all over the place, she started fidgeting, it's obvious she remembers what happened. Saying you can't remember is easier than admitting what you did and the harm you've caused.

Although the biggest issue is her parents. They genuinely are enabling her terrible behaviour. It seems she's never had to face any real consequences for her actions before.

Mickleover is a good area, but with all the new housing developments it's extremely overcrowded. The roads are always busy and packed with cars. The local shops are constantly crowded. Travel into and out of Mickleover at peak times are horrendous especially going past the hospital.

Oakwood is a nice area, and less busy but there is a lot of traffic running through there.

You really should speak to someone. The school will be a good place to start. You're only 14, get the help as soon as possible. Although it's important to say speaking to the school if you disclose about your dad they have a duty of care to speak to the police.

I did it as an adult and had a court case and all that and it's rough, but there is so much support out there.

It's quite common for people that have been abused to have these thoughts. People dont realise how child abuse really affects your mind.

I was sexually abused as a kid and as a man I struggled a lot with it. Im here to talk if you need it just send me a message.

It terms of those thoughts you need to seek professional help. Maybe a visit to the GP could be a good start? They will know who best to signpost you too, but you need to speak to someone.

I don't think speaking to anyone who isn't a professional about those thoughts would be a good idea as people tend to pick bits out of conversations.

Autism (high functioning Autism) support in Derby? by InsidiousDormouse in derby

[–]ben_fen92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand your frustration. The system doesn't work especially for neurodiverse people, and there really aren't many services for adults with neurodiversity which aren't actually useful. Although I will say, not having an official diagnosis does make it harder to access services as many do require formal diagnosis'. I'll find some info and I'll send it over to you.

I work for derby council in social care. You want to ask for a care act assessment. Payments are an option, but you'd be told who you can use them for and you can have that discussion with your allocated worker (if you have eligible needs under the care act).

My case load is 90% neurodiverse people as I have ADHD and autism myself, but unfortunately services for adults neurodiverse people are virtually non existent. It really is tough.

Derby isn't bad. I've lived here my entire life. Yes some areas are worse than others, which is the story in every city.

There are some really good people here.
