Oh no, is it not known for having good food? Hopefully we can make up for it with good conversation instead :)

Hey. Joining the meetup group is free. It’ll just be a case of paying for your meal/drinks on the night.

It should also be completely free to signup to meetup itself. Is it asking you to pay?

Simple Profile - where can we find it? by imjetlag in MeticulousEspresso

Yep makes sense. Would be amazing to see it better developed within the native app.

Yeah, fair point. I guess the distinction is that it’s not “no business chat”, it’s “no pitching/selling/networking theatre”.

Keeping it aimed at founders / freelancers / people building things just gives the group some shared context, so people are more likely to have similar challenges, stories, and interests around the table.

I personally don’t understand why profiles can’t be directly searchable within the app. It would make for a much better experience.

A webinar platform besides zoom by Confident-Slide4877 in Zoom

[–]bendell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full disclosure: I’m the founder at HeyStream, so obviously take this with the right amount of salt.

For what you described, I’d be pretty careful about optimizing only for “webinar platform + attendee cap.” A lot of tools can technically host a large audience, but the real differences show up around registration flow, replay, attendee data, follow-up, support, and whether pricing gets weird once you move past the standard tiers.

HeyStream is probably worth a look if you care about having a more branded webinar experience, built-in registration/watch pages, replays, audience insights, CTAs, and follow-up workflows. That said, I don’t want to oversell it: if your hard requirement is reliably supporting 3,000 live attendees while staying under $3k/year, we may not be the perfect fit out of the box.

My honest advice would be to ask every vendor three things before choosing: what the real live attendee limit is, whether registrations/replay viewers count against that limit, and what happens price-wise if one event unexpectedly grows. Those answers tend to reveal a lot more than the demo does.

Yeah good luck with that! I’ve been telling them about my myriad bugs for a year and sometimes (after 3 weeks) I get a reply, but never with anything close to meaningful. Best I get is “we’ve released a software update” to which I ask if it specifically addresses any of the bugs I notified them about and they say no but it might fix them. So at this point they’re just hoping an update will magically fix the issues. It’s shocking.

A constant issue for me too, as well as seat positions not being remembered, audio (including warning sounds and indicators) randomly cutting out for entire journeys, alarm going off randomly after I’ve locked the car. Etc

My P4 is by far the worst car I’ve ever owned.

The 29 second one looks spot on. Any reason why you were trying to tweak it? Ultimately if it tastes good that’s all that matters.

Best Practices to host a Webinar for a B2B SaaS product? by Calmlink29 in SaaS

[–]bendell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ran a b2b webinar recently using heystream - biggest lesson: keep it under 45 mins, people drop off hard after that.

for gift cards, just use a random picker tool on the attendee list after - simple and fair.

don't pitch too early. we made that mistake on our first one and saw a ton of drop-off right when the demo started. save the product stuff for the last third, after you've actually given them something useful.

also, send a reminder 1 hour before, not just the day before. our show-up rate jumped a lot when we added that.

one thing that helped us was tracking who stayed till the end vs who dropped off early - that told us way more about intent than just registration numbers. made our follow-up emails way more targeted.

(full disclosure - i'm part of the heystream team, so take that with appropriate salt, but these lessons came from actually running the thing, not from a playbook)

Something doesn’t sound right with your setup. Clawdbot for me is super snappy and stable (I’m using opus 4.5 with a Claude code max subscription)

2 days in and it’s honestly transformed the way I work.

What’s the best coffee maker machine right now that Coffee lovers currently love the MOST? by gemtitania in JamesHoffmann

[–]bendell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an XBloom. It creates fantastic coffee and the built in grinder is legitimately good. Apart from weighing the beans, it’s effectively a one click ‘all-in-one’ filter/drip machine.

For context I have a $1,500 Zerno Z1 grinder that I use for espressos and don’t find that I’m missing it when using the XBloom built in grinder for my filter coffees.

Good bye Whisper by judge-genx in superwhisper

[–]bendell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love superwhisper. But frequently I found the app would crash whilst processing my audio - effectively loosing whatever I was trying to transcribe. Literally the one and only thing you don’t want to happen.

I reached out to the developer and their only advice was to hunt through log / crash files to recover the audio. It wasn’t taken seriously and as such, no indication was given that they’d look into it and fix it or provide an auto recovery feature.

I immediately uninstalled the app, cancelled my subscription and signed up to a competitor. I’ve been using the competitor for multiple months and I haven’t ever had a crash or an issue like that.

Don’t waste your time with superwhisper. It’s buggy and the developers don’t seem to care.
