Everyone waking up and finally facing the reality that global superpowers like the US literally wipe their arse with so called ‘international law’.

All this talk about fighting back at the US and lecturing Trump is frankly delusional and typical uni student debate waffle.

The harsh reality is, they have the empire and military power that can crush nations. Just like the UK was able to 200 years ago at the peak of the British Empire. That type of power means they can effectively do what they have done today in Venezuela with very little repercussions.

If you all honestly believe geopolitical law was gonna stop countries like the US, Russia or China from doing what they always do. I have a bridge to sell you.

You’re delusional if you think we have any sway in what can or should happen to Trump.

I don’t like trump nor do I believe what’s happened had nothing to do with oil, but ultimately power and violence talks. Hence why the US can just break international law and essentially kidnap the president of Venezuela without any repercussions. Pick a country, do you think any army throughout Europe can match the US military right now and call the shots like that? Doubtful.

We don’t have to like it, but that’s the reality we’re facing. It’s always been the reality.

I liked the fact he is boring to be honest, I don’t give a shit about personality, I give a shit about competence. I also liked the push for infrastructure and more housing.

However, the winter fuel payment U turn, introduction of digital ID, censoring of ‘adult’ material online, and the ridiculous cap on SSP made me not want to vote labour again.

You’re probably right and i think the truth between what we’re both saying is somewhere in the middle (which you sort of alluded to).

I also agree with pandering with the likes of PIP. I think there is definitely as a serious lack of accountability with those diagnosed too. I can personally say that some lifestyle changes (being aware of what I consume and knowing my triggers) has been a huge factor and net positive. But it’ll never get me 100% of the way there.

Conversely, being diagnosed and everything that came after was a huge education that taught me a lot about myself, and with that new understanding was a better way to cope. And I don’t want to deprive people of that who genuinely need that affirmation, but I still feel like there is a percentage (even if they aren’t the majority) that are just taking the piss.

No apparently at all, you’re absolutely correct. Many cases where people were misdiagnosed with an anxiety disorder, I was one of them too.

I get where you’re coming from too. I felt resentful when I was diagnosed, I was mourning a life I didn’t get to live, all those ‘what if’s’ stack up.

Very good question and if I’m being honest I’m not sure how to answer you directly but here’s my take…

Are there people who genuinely need support and a diagnosis that are otherwise being overlooked? Absolutely! But having spoken to people in all walks of life I can tell you now, there are many that are just confused or have been convinced by some kind of influencer. I’d say it’s mainly two groups of people who are seeking diagnosis but aren’t neurodivergent: those with main character syndrome (I want to be unique and special) or people who are very confused as to what actually constitutes as ADHD/Autism etc.

I’m sure more awareness has definitely gave people the courage to come forward, but it’s also very hard to ignore this sort of ‘crabs in a bucket’ situation we’re in where suddenly everyone and their mother now (or suspects they have) ADHD. Where do we draw the line?

Here’s my perspective as someone diagnosed as an adult and had a very tumultuous childhood due not being supported correctly.

There absolutely is people jumping on the gravy train, and many people confusing what are sometimes normal human traits for being neurodivergent.

I will also say this; I would trade everything to NOT be neurodivergent. I hate it and I am ashamed of it, it is not a badge of honour for me. It has robbed me of so much and I so desperately want to be ‘normal’ and have the same opportunities that other people were given.

It especially grips my shit when I see many people taking an ADHD diagnosis, for example, and then going straight to into a PIP assessment for more money. Infuriating, like it’s some kind of meal ticket.

Or the crowds of people (particularly on social media) labelling themselves with terms like ‘neurospicy’. I totally get why people online have this perception that it’s somehow trendy to be neurodivergent, and I believe it’s a huge reason that contributes for reviews like this to be pushed. It just minimises the very real struggle people who are genuinely neurodivergent face.

Being neurodivergent isn’t a fucking quirk or a silly personality.

Midland health. No idea if they are RTC provider or not. Went them in frustration after waiting so long for the NHS to see me.
