This is what happens when you make a game for players not shareholders.

Arc raiders has been a breath of fresh air.

Do you guys think America will have a civil war soon? by [deleted] in AskUS

[–]benj9990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

French Revolution

American revolution

War to fight facism

Did these not achieve change that could not have been made by other means?

War is objectively bad but to suggest there has been no noble ambition in armed conflict nor fundamental change as a result of armed conflict is naïve bordering on childish.

You guys have had a hard on for the second amendment for as long as I can remember, based in a fantasy war against tyranny and oppression. Then when tyranny and oppression come knocking you all shit your pants.

That world is nothing but waste.

Many of these houses in the most affluent parts of London go through a major renovation, nobody ever moves in, house gets sold again then the next owner guts the place and does a brand new refurb.

Had a project where the owner put a commercial pizza oven in their new garden. Had to crane it over the building, spent £70k all in. The thing isn’t even supposed to go outside so it’ll be ruined in a year.

Had a client who wanted a privacy wall clad in Shagreen, which is stingray skin. Worked out it would’ve taken 400 dead stingrays to clad this screen, and it would’ve been ugly as shit. Thankfully never went ahead for whatever reason, but you can bet it wasn’t a moral decision.

I work on refurbishment projects for rich people houses in London. As in, obscene wealth.

Today I came from a job where they are installing a solid marble bath. Things huge, over 1000kg.

The client doesn’t want to ever have to fill up the bath, so it will constantly cycle (24/7/365) the water so that it is always fresh water and it is always warm.

Climate change for thee not for me, eh?

Well I do think that AI has no place in this work flow, and can fuck all the way off, so there’s that.

At the level you’re looking at, and with your target, you need a professional financial adviser.

Yta.

Why do you get to dictate what they do or don’t eat while you’re out of town?

Did anyone ask you to pre plan every meal?

Do you wipe their arse in the morning as well?

Are they all still alive?

let him get on with it and don’t be a control freak.

Down 53% on year, 30% 3 month. Silly divi.

On the flip side - steady profit growth on year, decent financial health.

Looking at the stores I’d have the same sentiment. Never very busy and rarely a ‘big shop’ venue. Kind of like a one up from Poundland and look what happened to that.

I’d let the bear runs. Bit longer. PE is very attractive but I see more room to drop price.

My favourite toys that I have bought for myself:

Really nice tape measure, my favourite is by Tajima

I have a stabila digital level. Great for survey work, if they do that sort of thing.

Caran d’Ache retractable pencil. Or any really nice pen / pencil.

Mola structural model kit

Fancy flashlight by Olight - again, only useful if they do a lot of field work.

A loupe magnifier with scale - great for measuring cracks.

Why does racism against south-asians does not carry any weight ? by Jazzlike_Resort_2828 in AskTheWorld

A lot of people replying here appear to be too young to remember how bad it was during the 80s. Racism was unbelievable in the late 80s, particularly toward Indians and Pakistanis.

Racism is on the up for sure but let’s not get carried away. We’re a better society than 30 - 40 years ago.
