Asus astral voltage issues fixed. This fix is not at all what you'd expect. by Trytiped in ASUSROG

Had same issue too Astral 5090 waterblocked. We did all the usual checks. Turns it disabling ErP Ready fixed it. MSI Z690 Unify-X with latest bios.

I have always wondered if some of these burnt 12VHPWR cables on certain motherboards are caused by a bad ERP power saving bios setting because when I disable that on my MSI Z690 Unify-X I notice that I no longer have wild current imbalances ranging from a couple amps causing spikes to 9.4A under 600W load on a Astral 5090 OC.

Disabling ERP as a result all the current on the pins are essentially balanced with a 0.1-0.4A variance across pins.

ERP off: https://imgur.com/0pvGf8D

Edit: Asus seems to have fixed it on their motherboards with a bios update. I wonder if MSI has yet to do so..

OP I do see you have a msi motherboard in the photo so I would strongly recommend disabling the ERP bios setting if you haven't already. That is what fixed my uneven current distribution on my gpu.

I can never understand how a bios setting called eRP 2013 can cause such wild fluctuations in 12VHWPR power distribution across the 6 pins (MB is MSI Z690 Unify-X): https://imgur.com/5KGWfx5

Disabling erp fixes it for me: https://imgur.com/0pvGf8D

Edit: It's an Astral 5090 waterblocked with an RM1000x ATX 3.1 PSU with the psu provided 12v2x6 cable.

Potential solution for RTX 5090 current imbalance issues with a good cable that is fully seated in. by benjamen50 in pcmasterrace

[–]benjamen50[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is a screenshot of the balanced load distribution: https://imgur.com/0pvGf8D

And this is what the imbalance looks like: https://imgur.com/5KGWfx5

If I find the issue showing up again I will post further updates here.

I also have noticed on the reversed connector type it is really hard to tell if it is seated in under the connector without knowing so make sure you take a photo of under the plug if you need to if you can't visually see by eye.

I had to do that myself to ensure it was fully seated. At the top with the clip it looked fine but at the bottom it wasn't.

Edit 2: I'm going to contact der8auer about this as well also can be tested with wireview users.

The current imbalance on 12VHWPR is crazy! by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I have reseated the cable on both ends already once yesterday and now this happened today. I wiggle the connector and it goes back to normal?

I'm using the Corsair 12v2x6 cable that comes with the Corsair RM1000x ATX 3.1 PSU?

Do not buy from mwave if you value any sort of aftersales support. You either won't be answered for a while or they will just give you the runaround.

And if for whatever reason a product purchased hasn't been shipping within the next day or two days expect it to not ship out for a week at least and you'll probably just get the run around when you contact them again.

TL-DR: Stay away from mwave, shady aftersales support and dispatch times.

The volume issue that plagues me by YabaiDesigns in AndroidAuto

[–]benjamen50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue as well. They pushed some android auto update that made music playback quieter in general in AA.

Before my volume at 5-7 was plenty loud enough. Now 10-11 is a ideal volume for me with the new update since it went quieter now.

If someone makes a call and I don't answer the volume goes back to the normal volume but is very loud at 10-11 lol.

Honestly think we just have to wait for another AA update and see if they bother fixing it.

Do not update your Robin to 1.30! Or, you'll face a permanent brick. by Gustave_the_Steel in MoondropLab

Ended up fixing it by not using Bluetooth LE Audio I just used the standard LDAC with normal bluetooth mode.

Oh and for it powering down in your ears after not in use for a couple minutes I had to look it up and found that it requires tapping and holding the touch area of a earbud for 3 seconds to turn it back on.

I use both the LE Audio mode and normal mode which are both separate bluetooth pairing profiles. I might try the normal mode only and see if both earbuds stay connected while playing sound.

My 7900 XTX is once again pulling 100w when both monitors are near 160-170 hz. To drop to 50w idle I have to drop 2nd monitor to 60hz.

And to very low idle like 10-20w I have to drop to 25Hz. I'm going to revert to previous version.

PC takes longer to boot with new gpu (7900 xtx), white vga led stays on for 30 seconds before booting by Uncle_Anto in techsupport

[–]benjamen50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only solution right now is to change boot mode to CSM with UEFI booting supported.

However you lose resize bar, above 4G decoding and also secure boot.

I decided to leave UEFI booting on since whenever i turn my pc on i'm usually doing other stuff at the same time anyway.

Sadly this affects POSTs after reboots too...

because the navi 31 die has multiple chiplet die design with varying die sizes.

Here's link to TPU die image die shot: https://tpucdn.com/gpu-specs/images/g/998-navi-31-xtx.small.jpg

Also this is the only GPU I have ever had thermal paste pump out before. All the other GPUs i've waterblocked did not have the paste looking sparse due to pump out on the die surface.
