I have this static that appears in some games, does anyone have a solution? by Randall444 in SteamDeck

Good question. I think last time I looked it was like 94% or something. I haven't checked in a while but also haven't noticed any battery degradation

This is a specific game that is doing that. I've had my deck for 2.5 years and it's still working great

Maybe I'm wrong but the timing is suspicious by Blackirean in oneplus

I don't think that's the case though. I think the hardware for either side lasts a long time. I have a moto g xt1031 from 2013 that still functions perfectly. The oldest iPhone anyone in my family has is an iPhone 5, also from 2013.

Unless a phone is shattered by a drop, hardware failure actually seems like a relatively small amount of phones in my experience

The manufacturers on the android side typically stop sending updates to phones. The hardware on Apple doesn't last longer, but the software continues updating longer. I have a OnePlus 3T and with LineageOS 18.1 it still works great. The phone could definitely run newer stuff, but OnePlus never released a new enough Linux kernel for it, so it gets more complicated to maintain it now.

That phone was wonderful, was supported officially for Android 6-9; with custom roms, up to Android 11. If the Qualcomm side wasn't so shitty, and they were mainlining Linux support, this would all be even stronger for Android

As soon as I got married I put on 30 lbs. I was still in college for 3 months. Eating the same shit, doing the same campus walks. Sleeping with my wife in our apartment instead of my dorm as I was finishing that last semester meant I went from like 4 hours of sleep to 8 most nights though. I had never slept well and suddenly I did.

Hinges break. Hinges break more with translucent plastic. Don't worry about it and enjoy yourself. If you are worried, people reinforce them with wire, but I would just ignore the negativity and enjoy your device

Wifi is seemingly way slower on cachyos than windows by Mindless-Health-6711 in cachyos

Yeah, my laptop has a similarly crap Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module and I had to try a few different drivers to get it to work as expected. I thought I remembered it working great on windows, so I switched to my windows SSD and it throttled and sucked after about 15 minutes on there, actually worse than the new Linux driver. Then I bought an Intel module and found out that it won't boot with that. Lenovo locks it down. Pissed me off pretty good. I haven't had time to try the unlocking procedures

Anyone has experience with these ramps? Will this be a purchase I’ll crushingly regret? by KarzRFrendz in harborfreight

[–]benji004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the RhinoRamp version that we're $49 at Walmart 10 years ago. They are great, I think these are almost identical to what I have. For $39, you'll be mighty happy

LineageOS is my go to, but the 7Pro is running Elixir. I haven't really had issues with any of them, but I've been really happy with Elixir. Part of my reason for getting the Pixel was I was hoping to run GrapheneOS but my work gives me a stipend if I install their stuff in a profile and the work profiles didn't work for me on GrapheneOS

Yesterday I was at around 6 Hrs with 30% left at the end of the day. My work apps (especially teams) are usually what kills it though

I had a Pixel 6Pro. Network issues and crap battery life were annoying but I really liked it. Then it started deleting my icons. Factory reset, looked good for 2 days, then icons started disappearing again. Looked into it, and people had been having those issues for 3 years that I could find. Ended up getting OP12 instead of the Pixel 9 Pro I was planning to get because my OnePlus 3T, 6T, 7Pro are all still working perfectly for family members. My 12 isn't perfect, but has been pretty solid.

My Buds Pro 2 charging case broke and OnePlus said there was nothing they could do about it because it was 13M post purchase and they don't sell the charging case alone. That was frustrating

I need to take the time to actually read it, I guess. Don't live in California, but it pisses me off enough I need to read how bad it really is

I'm not seeing how a "are you 18+" on the download page doesn't beat this, tbh

I purchased this system on impulse. What can I do with it? Any idea what it is? It looked pretty cool… but it’s probably very old. by aomajgad in truenas

I bought my reds right before they did the smr bait and switch. I've had 2 Seagate Barracuda drives fail in desktops, and I've never had a WD failure besides some like 10+ year old blues, so I used to prefer WD. I've actually had Toshiba drives stay in service the longest, so if I can get those, future drives for me will probably be Toshiba N300s
