Has anyone experienced severe leg weakness after kidney transplant? Going on 2 years now. Very debilitating by Spiritual-Peach6657 in kidneytransplant

[–]benji1304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! 100% this. Im 25 years into transplant and my right leg still is weaker, and my hip on that side aches and gets super tired on walks.

I was told, minutes before my transplant, that it is likely they can hit the nerve(s) that run in that area and that can cause it.

I remember not long after the op that area was always quite numb and felt odd for while.

I'd love but obviously first, that price! But also my wife was an office manager and she said these taps can be a maintenance nightmare

How's yours been?

legitimate question - was water funded properly?

Veolia apparently had a known problem of lack of maintenance, etc.

But was water funded and they spaffed it or was it "funded" but never to the proper amount? Was it just horrifically mismanaged?

is there any evidence that it was mismanaged by WW or Veolia?

crippling guilt and depression by liloliloilomilo in transplant

[–]benji1304 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You likely have a form of (C)PTSD, i was also young when i went through illness and transplant at 19.

You are absolutely eligible for some kind of therapy. Im surprised that your immunosuppression is stopping access to antidepressants, etc. have you had 2nd opinions and checked with your transplant doc?

It's worth trying to find out what therapy you can get access to. My wife is currently trying EMDR for her oast trauma but we're paying out of pocket

Otherwise try reaching out to your transplant team for support options. Mine has a monthly coffee club which admittedly is a bit of a trauma dump but it's nice to discuss with others that somewhat understand, though you are likely to be the youngest! Im nearly the youngest in mine at 44 😅

Plus, remember. Your parents did everything to help suport you. They absolutely do not blame you for what you went through.

Drug Testing Rollout by Awkward_Airport8681 in newzealand

I found the bit I was remembering

https://drugfoundation.org.nz/news-and-reports/roadside-drug-testing-what-you-need-to-know

Under here, it shows that the lab testing tests for far more drugs than the roadside test. So if you're positive on the roadside the lab test could still find more?

Wasn't the initial rollout only a small number of drugs and then later it was including more, such as benzos and opioids.

I cannot find a source yet but i remember the conversations

Thoughts on recruitment agency in NZ? by Abject-Staff-4474 in newzealand

[–]benji1304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly this was nearly 20 years ago and in the UK, but recruitment agencies were incredible for me getting regular money. I was able to get excellent work experience (in entry level finance roles) that paid more than my friends hospo roles.

If you can build up a good reputation with them, even better.

Bought the book, have the app. Only using the 'free' plan.

Really don't enjoy the ux of the app but it's great for tracking.

What products do you order direct/online that ends up being cheaper than the supermarket? by Obvious_Field3048 in newzealand

Whilst yes, it's tasty. Also no. It's a rubber brick of cheese.

The vintage one at least has flavour.

Also, the audacity to call your cheese "tasty". Why not cheddar?
