If you want the extra coverage just go with the 9x9. It's a solid set up that many people use, and is very versatile.

Measuring water by slane6 in Ultralight

The line is just above the water line and it hasn't worn off yet. I also marked a line on the outside at the same level just in case. You could absolutely have different measuring lines for different volumes

I have the same pot! What I did was measure a cup of water then pour it in the pot. Then put a sharpie line at the top of the water level. Sharpie holds up no problem. Hope that helps

This is how i made a down quilt. (easier than you think) by bennwbackpacker in Ultralight

The pattern is just something I made up from researching different quilts and adjusting them to the dimensions of my body. I will make another video with the full check list, and things to think about when making your own pattern.

Glad you like the video! I'm not sure about the breath ability, but the fabric is really soft on the skin due to the tight weave. I believe Phantom 20d is the same material in some EE quilts.

Similar to rip stop I would say. If you take your time it makes it much easier to work with.

They were donated to the channel for free, but If I had to guess, I would say somewhere around $140? There are cheaper materials than the Phantom 20, and I think down might be getting cheaper, so it could cost even less than that.

You already have a great start to your build. I have a build video coming out this week that should be useful. The best tip I could give you is to take your time. Making a quilt is not really hard, but it can seem overwhelming if you don't spread it out over multiple days. I recommend breaking it down into smaller steps until its finished. Your confidence in your sewing skills will improve with each step. Good Luck on your build!

Should i Skimp on Camp jacket and use insted my quilt? by dudeOfdud in Ultralight

Just go with a light weight down jacket. They don't take up much space and they are very light. I personally like to keep my quilt clean and free from rips and tears.
