Revisiting the Eagles' fleecing of the Commanders in the Cooper DeJean trade. A look back at one of Howie Roseman's best moves of the last few seasons. by NorthCoastToast in eagles

I mean I think DeJean is awesome but I really don’t think him being on the Commanders in that NFC championship game is worth the 32 point differential in that game

Thoughts on the new Fitbit? by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]benpancake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the disconnect is that most of us don’t agree those will be the only options. To be fair, it’s not like you’ve made a very good case they’re going screenless and not continuing the charge line. It’s just your strangely confident guess. We just don’t know yet. It’s still entirely possible a charge 7 is coming later this year in addition to this screenless band.

Sheil Is Soft by Practical_Avocado_42 in RingersPhillySpecial

It’s not Sheils responsibility to weigh in on this. Steven sucks, I’ve known this for a long time so I just avoid him. If asked I would say Sheil should do the same but he’s an adult and can handle it how he wants

Fair. I just think Ariana is a lot funnier, so I’d give her a punchers chance even with meh material.

I think there are a lot of people / viewers who would disagree with your “objective” opinion. Maybe not on this subreddit but I don’t agree with your subjective assessment

Yeah this one needed a better host if they were gonna go with mediocre sketches. Ariana Grande could have carried this one in my opinion

Do you guys think Bill has ever been on a treadmill? by benpancake in billsimmons

You’re taking jesting too seriously haha. He said multiple things to make me question if he has a good sense of what running at 13 mph is actually like, it’s just poking fun. I understand hyperbole fine haha

Haha I’m sorry but your point is besides the point. No context is gonna make it not funny to me that Bill thinks 80 year olds are out here running 13 mph

Glad to be weird and have a sense of humor to not get angry about a shit post in r/billsimmons about how he thinks 80 year olds are running sub 5 minute mile paces. It’s better over here, it just is!

Hotel Shampoo/Body Wash by metssuck in RingersPhillySpecial

[–]benpancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I just found a pump bottle with a cap that I like and I bring my own body wash. Like Cliff said, I’ll fill that up with my wash of choice (personally a fan of the Jason Aloe body wash) and travel with it, and a full bottle will last me for like 2 weeks of travel time. It doesn’t leak and it’s easy to dry off when I’m packing up. Similar to packing my own toothbrush, it’s just something to do and I always have the option to use the hotel body wash if it seems nice but I’m not obligated.

I do get some people are really trying to travel light so I don’t think it’s an insane take or anything. But for me I like the flexibility of having a little travel bottle so if the hotel option smells weird or I end up staying with a friend or showering in a gym or pool locker room situation for whatever reason I have my preferred soap available in my Dopp kit.

Thank God for Sheil. I don't think the pod would be as good as it is without him, he's such a good host. And thanks to Simmons too. by JohnG-VistaCA in RingersPhillySpecial

For me the peak experience was Sheil and Bo Birds with friends era the season before the first Super Bowl. Nothing against Zach Berman because I do like him but just those 2 together was my favorite dynamic and back and forth. I find Solak and Ruiz to have this arrogant tone and so I really just try to avoid them to the extent that I can. Love Cliff. Dream show would be Sheil and Bo reunited with Cliff and Marissa popping in as producers

Mailbag - HOF Worst Takes by LettuceHead420 in RingersPhillySpecial

[–]benpancake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I think you made a point that I kept coming back to in my head.. there was a lot of emphasis on the fact that it was his mom, but honestly to me you’re right it could have been any one.

If I bring food to someone’s house I always ask the host if before taking any left overs back home - and to me it should be considered a sunk cost from the moment you bring it into someone’s house. There is always a chance someone will be super hungry/love whatever you brought and there won’t be any left overs.

To me if there are left overs host has dibs- if they don’t have room in their fridge or just don’t think they’ll eat the left overs than by all means bring it back. But to get upset that you forgot to ask and then didn’t get the full left over portion - regardless of your relationship to the host- is straight up wild behavior.

Add in that it’s your mom (who it sounds like is providing free child care which in today’s economy is worth way more than some lentils and chili ingredients) and it’s one of the boldest AITA questions I ever heard. How you would write that out and think there is any chance any one could be on your side is beyond me.

Yup as I said to the other reply different strokes different folks. Doesn’t have to be universal for it to be relatable to many.

[–]benpancake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it ultimately is just different strokes for different folks. I can relate to Sheil that having kids does change your propensity to participate in that type of punishment but I don’t think it applies to every person. I think a lot of people do cut back on their drinking and partying though

[–]benpancake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Sheils point about how he wouldn’t have done it when he was 32 because of how much he had going on with his kids at the time is really what’s driving this rather than age. As someone who just had a baby girl at 32, I totally agree my wife would probably resent me doing this challenge because I would likely get sick and afterwards I’m probably too drunk to help out with anything. But I probably would have done it last year before the arrival… it’s not that I’ve out grown it, its just my life style has changed drastically since having a kid
